Can I just say, “Thanks to everyone that has subscribed to this channel” “commented” “and gave us a thumbs up” over the past year. All the positive stuff really makes it worth while and drives us forward. Regards James and Kirsteen
Get some more made James, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms.. Watching this again, a possible for me, I like all the tarns in the area too... My plan has changed to a two nighter..
If wardle is the rainman then you James are the mist man lol, very enjoyable as ever and a good bit of humour too, the toasties are my favourite bit. Happy camping, Chris
I suppose that’s better than Sweet pea ! (As your mate Andy now calls me) strangely enough I went up Kinder with Grandad Kieth Saturday afternoon/night and that was covered in mist, you may have something here! Cheers Chris Regards James
Looked a lot of fun guy's and a lovely exposed spot that didn't have any wind compared to the sheltered spot next to the tarn that did. Love the chat and great to see you both out again. I used to live in Millom many years ago and walked them fells up to the Old Man most weekends, love it round there. Cheers and ATB. Jim.
Hi Jim We were thinking of turning it into a walk and going back if the gusts hadn’t have died down, that tent of mine is not fantastic in winds. I spent nights with the ceiling bouncing of my nose too many times! There are some cracking fells up there that you can more or less have to yourself most days, we have spent a fair bit of time exploring the less known fells in the area this year and it’s been really enjoyable. Caws my favourite and one for the future for a wild camp. Thanks for watching and commenting Jim, it’s appreciated. Regards James and Kirsteen
Hey guys I'm glad you reminded me I was a subscriber....I let this one roll whilst doing some squats for that hiking we all love so much. Nothing better than to watch a great time out whilst training for one yourself. Ha ha! I thought the views were great to - mind you always like the mist. It adds that certain something. Good going. All the best. Mark
Well I am glad we could have been of a good service this evening! Cracking place, one of our favourites from last year and it’s made us more aware of trying new places in future. Thanks for watching and commenting Mark Regards James and Kirsteen
What can I say sweet pea.. Sorry, lol.. This was really a cool video, my favourite TH-cam couple wildcamping in the lakes, and I nearly missed it, only because I was searching for stuff to watch while wild camping in my truck.. ;) I'm still pondering on the kind of stove and sleeping bag to get myself, although three season for me should be ok.. Melted plastic doesn't sound very appetizing to me, lol.. Very enjoyable watch guys.. Thank you for sharing your selfie stick..
Thank you very much, I am glad you found it. It’s just around the corner from the old man of coniston, so I thought you would like it. As for your sleeping bag and cooker, I would do lots of research and then a bit more before parting with your money, one thing I would say with the sleeping bag is always make sure your going to be warm enough or it becomes a long night and get a good matt to put it on, that was a game changer for me. Stoves ? I like to be able to make something and I am prepared to carry the extra weight, there’s nothing more perfect than enjoying nice food and watching the sun go down. I use the jetboil mini mo (it has a temperature control) and boil in the bags obviously, I am thinking of getting the bigger pot to actually cook on it without the bags and not tarnish the pot for making coffee. Good luck with the search. Regards James and Kirsteen
Hi Leona and Chris We found it not too bad going up from Coniston side, it’s a cracking pathway. It was the perfect place to camp but very exposed, I can imagine in getting a bit dodgy if the wind got up in our tent. I’ve checked your channel and I can see you have done quiet a few walks yourself so we may get some ideas off you. Thanks for commenting. Regards James and Kirsteen
No swimming in the tarn this trip lol. You said it was not the most interesting video but I really enjoyed watching it, to be honest. Great views, great first day weather and great banter between you both, really enjoyed it. Cheers Alan
I can’t believe Kirsteen didn’t go for a dip either 😉 I normally try and catch a bit more scenery footage at night but I was too busy playing around with a new microphone, moving campsite and making dodgy food. Yes agreed and maybe it’s actually worked out for the best. Over a year on with this channel and I am still trying to workout what the right balance is. I bet your doing the same and by the looks of it, your doing ok. Thanks for the comments. Regards James and Kirsteen
Hello J & K, I think I shall be settling down to watch your current video catalogue. I am enjoying the cadence, craic, and timbre of these wee local mini adventures. Thanks for posting. Kind Regards, et Vive L'adventure. (ps; If you'll please forgive me for suggesting that you consider giving that commentor from Brazil a reply, he/she sounds hearteningly complimentary of our norms and culture, & warrants a warm acknowledgement, I reckon).
Hi Thanks for your positive comments and we hope you enjoy the rest of the channel. I have subscribed by and look forward to checking out your videos. I couldn’t quiet understand the ps part of the message, could you help me understand please ? Regards James and Kir
Hello J & K. Thanks for the reciprocation, kind folks. I only discovered your channel after uploading a video with similar content to one of yours (Giant's Grave). The Lord of TH-cam moves in mysterious ways ! Re the ps thing; Just at the top of the comments column (i.e. below this), there is a very endearing comment from DG Tudo in Brazil, and I thought it might merit an acknowledgement, that's all. But, maybe it is the case that my PC can see what yours cannot - by some ether-glitch or other, Or, maybe you have indeed responded, and my pc cannot see that - you know how these things work sometimes !! Anyway, all the best and Kind Regards.
Hello! Good afternoon! Congrats on the video! Great channel! BIG LIKE 11 Your culture and your language enchants me! Congratulations! Success! . . . Hugs from Brazil . . . . . . . . . #dgtudo
Nice one James or is it sweetpea lol...got blind tarn on the list of potentials for a camp, looks a nice little spot.trouble is sometimes with theses tarns when they're in a bowl like that the wind blows round & it feels like it's coming fro all directions which can be a pain when trying to pitch tent.great views in the evening but a shame about the morning, had a few like that myself where it's been a great evening & then a crap morning.just enjoy it for what it is i say when it's like that..tfs guy's hope your'e both well you certainly looked it in the vid..Andy.
+Andrew Beavers Hi Andy I would definitely go back and have another go, although would really recommend where we camped or white maiden next to it. I was having a play with a microphone and it did quiet a good job of disguising how strong the wind really was. I need to get a better tent at some point, that can cope with stronger winds. Can I lend your mates?lol Still a great camp with Mrs Wasdale Glad you liked it and thanks for commenting. Regards Sweetpea (Wasdale Man)
Wasdale Man haha..the soulo is mine now i bought it off him & used it quite a few times now in strong winds & i have to say they live up to reputation very well.very impressed with it & recommended..

Hi Stu Bizarrely enough I was just about to show Kirsteen your video of the old man that you uploaded, I enjoyed the human sledging bit! We wild camped on there last year and what a contrast the weather compared to your trip, the videos on the channel by the way. Thanks for the subscription and the great comment. Regards James
Wasdale Man you're welcome my friend! We are doing a hike a month again this year too! We might even do some wild camping :) not too sure though as the noises outside your tent sounded a bit freaky! We did the Old Man last January too, what a contrast on weather!
+KEV M Don’t worry Kev 😉 I think I am doing something very soon with Grandad Kieth now that his allotment is finished with for the year, I spoke to him today and he’s gagging to go! Glad you liked it. Regards James
