Brody is seriously amazing...love this album, there are NO filler songs which is a plus. The distillers were a really rad band, they will always be one of my favorites, but I'm digging how much Brody is evolving as an artist. Raspy voice and she is a beaut? can't get better than that!
I'm ashamed that I've only discovered Brody recently. Doesn't change the fact that she has, without doubt, the best album of the year! The record absolutely smashes it out of the park!!
You shouldn't be ashamed. Brody Dalle is truly a hidden gem buried under tons and tons of mainstream bologna.

I love it when people say that her husband must be writing her music for her, as though it's absolutely inconceivable to think that a married female artist might be capable of writing her own material.

I can't. QOTSA and Dalle have completely different styles. If anything QOTSA has gotten more like Dalle
Well, I got a "Go With The Flow" vibe from this track. Granted, I've not listened to "Like Clockwork" yet, so I'll get back to you on that.

In this studio version I can. Live it sounds a lot less QOTSA like and more like some abrasive shoegaze.

I am sad for her and her current situation and I think it has been bringing her down, telling her lies, and I hope better, brighter, healthier, happier days are ahead for her and her boys.

Every lyrical line of this song is truly genius and badass, love it. Its sung with that simply amazing aggressive and yet melodic form Brody can absolutely just crush. I quite enjoy the horn instruments building in the end to an epic finish. So good!
