Hello Ian from Meaford Ontario Canada, Ian I just recently got my Quad 2's amplifiers and 22 pre amp fully restored back from it's restoration and the fella I got them from has the Quad 57s speakers however they need restoration and I wanted to share with you a possible fix , The big X over grey box with speaker terminal s in the back of the speaker has resistors embedded in a potted form ...some of the resistors most likely need replacing and it apparently is all you have to do if in fact your membrane d are still good ...thanks Ian and hopefully this helps
All that dust made me sneeze while I was watching! I'd love ESL 57's but my room really isn't big enough and I'd have to get my wife to show me how the vacuum cleaner works ;0) Excellent practical video but I think Milo could have helped more; perhaps a bit of dusting with his tail
