Love your videos as I've said before--but also LOVE your dogs...So glad you introduced us to them.......this 4 part series on your Christmas Lane village has been such an inspiration--cannot wait to get started on mine! Happy Thanksgiving! Excited to see more Christmas videos from you!
Have you ever used DecoArt Snow-Tex or similar? Might be easier to build up texture with something like that and then maybe finish with the loose snow. I’ve only ever used it on small putz houses which are much smaller projects than a whole village like this. So I don’t 100% know how it would fare. It’s great though. Sticks to anything and dries solid as a rock. Even used some to cover a crack in a ceramic Christmas village house.
Hi Carl! Thanks for the ideas- love your videos. I have Norrh Pole Village since the beginning. I use salt for snow. I use a small paint brush after to “sweep”’the porches. Once the season is over ☹️ I just vacuum it up. I buy a large bag from smart n final.
I just glued some loose snow on my styrofoam. Waiting for it to spray. Have you ever used scenic cement? I have some but thinking I might try your glue/water recipe? You just use Elmer’s all glue to mix?
Yeah, never used scenic cement. Glue/water will work if you spray it as close to a mist as your bottle will allow. Yes, just white school glue! Once you’re doing spraying, put a little more fresh snow on and just let it all sit and dry!
I have done that for many years with the North Pole Village and Snow Village, finally after years of cleaning up moss from Fall village and snow from the Christmas village I went and got white felt for Christmas and found all different types of fall color felt. I buy 3' x 3' and cut what I need. Then add clumps of reindeer moss for fall and clumps of snow. If you want more loose looking snow , sprinkle loose and lightly spray it with glitter glue or a spray glue. It has to be done at a distance or your blow the snow away. Or make mounds of white glue and sprinkle snow on the mounds.
Great question! I think I’m partial to Halloween because I’m so into it, but Christmas is awesome too! I’ll be glad to see this village all together and see how it looks!

I just bought some the other day and will attempt to use it on some smaller details!
I hope this technique works because it's so much better than vacuuming snow off and out of everything months later..lol
Right? I think this method will certainly cut down on all of that!!

Where did you get the stones that are glued in front of your platform?
I guess I don’t understand your question - everything is carved from foam, there are no stones glued anywhere on this piece.
