As a foreigner who is just learning English, I must say that you have great pronunciation, I understood everything without any problems. Thank you for your review!
Thanks for the review. Regarding the battery running down after two days; this is actually by design because they are using lithium polymer battery. It is different from lithium ion that can happily hold charge for a long time. LiPo can hold a lot of charge but does not like to be fully charged for very long time. LiPo’s are stored around 50% range, and most devices that use LiPos discharge the battery to storage charge after day or two.
yeah, originally it did this as you described. It would hold charge for a few days and then go to 50%. But now the battery drains as soon as I disconnect it from the charger. If I charge it up in the evening and disconnect it, it will be down to 0 charge the next morning. I basically have to keep it connected to a powerbank until I want to use it. I'm trying to source a new battery and replace it myself as it's a hassle to send it in for replacement.
Hi mate, Great review, thanks a lot! For the landscape view on the phone, there are some flexible supports you can put around your neck and you can use the phone quite effectively in various angles both horizontal and on vertical. I also use it for recording as well. Practically, you will have the phone in front of your eyes at 10-20 cm from chest. It doesn't also make the rod handling difficult.
thanks John, yeah I'll probably get the chirp at some stage. I just take a power bank with me now and charge it up every now and then. Fortunately, it charges pretty quickly.
Great review, the gps recording is awesome.... the batteries issue is such a shame. Hopefully Deeper give you the chirp model for a review. I would buy without blink if it had removable batteries. Hey mate, how about a second kayak review, with the mods you have done, would be great.
Thanks man. I'm actually thinking of modding my deeper and see if I can somehow hook it up to an external battery while kayak fishing. Will do a video about that if successful :) Cheers for the kayak video idea. I'll see what I can come up with. Although I haven't done any mods to it ;)
@@geeza765 Hi Chris, currently I'm using a Dreamkayaks Siren 10.5. I made a review a while ago: th-cam.com/video/0GD-GXm1XXA/w-d-xo.html It's not the best but it's pretty good value for money in my opinion. If money isn't an issue and you want the best pedal kayak out there then I would go with an Old Town Predator or a Hobie Outback. I used to have a Hobie Outback long time ago and was quite happy with it.
@@Fishingreminder I just got my kayak rudder broken, it was quite windy in the lake ( whakatipu) today ...then I hit a rock somehow with the rudder.... if a had a deeper scaninng the lake bottom I could had avoid that😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 It seems dream kayaks doesn't have any for sell... I will have to build one, or repair the broken one... Have a look on the external batteries for go pro at aliexpress, You may have some ideas for what you intend to do with your fishfinder. Cheers.
@@aranha9365 o crap that's not good. Did you contact Dreamkayaks to check if they can send out a replacement? That would be really bad customer service if they can't supply a new rudder. Well I'm thinking of drilling a hole into the deeper case, put a cable through and then seal it up. Then maybe use just a portable power bank on the other end. Not sure if the deeper works while it's charging. I'll have to test that first. Otherwise I'd also have to somehow bypass the internal battery.
Hey there, yeah this can be done. You can actually attach the deeper to your fishing line and cast it out to see what the depth and bottom is like in your casting range. I'm about to make another video on this, giving it a test for land based fishing.

Thank you, that is great to hear. My German accent does have some benefit then, haha

As a shore fisherman and a kayaking fisherman, i have been researching my options. Thanks for the info.
cheers, glad it was helpful
Have you decided on witch fishing sonar to get?
@kingofmonsters2063 I haven't made a purchase, but I'm leaning heavily towards the deeper chirp 3.
I like that this tiny one can help me a lot to catch fish more
it really is a good little helper

That's awesome, thanks for the tip. I'll have a look if I can find one of those.
Excellent review. Exactly what I was looking for!
Thanks 👍
a really nice demo and the battery life on chirp 2 is alot better, i hope you get it sorted

Good review mate.
Thanks 👍 I'll also do a second part where I'll be testing it for land-based fishing.

Would this be useful tying a rope to it and throwing it in the ocean while fishing from on the rocks?

Thanks!
cheers brother, much appreciated 👍 Our first ever super thanks 🙏
Bro u got oranges man, which place u live
Haha, yeah New Zealand Bro
the new chirp 2 last 15 hours battery
awesome, that's good to know. Much better than the 2 hours I'm getting out of my old deeper pro
That's the price of an actual fish finder. Kinda nuts
yeah could be a bit cheaper, eh :)
Do you have a German accent? :)
Haha, yeah that's the one 🤙
