    Liked seeing how you keep your dies. I have trouble organizing my dies as well as stamps and embossing folders. I find it interesting when you do some of your projects and I when I saw you flip through your dies, I have some of the same ones. I like seeing items I have in projects as it gives me more ideas on how to use them. Thank you.

    I have always stored my stuff like for like. I’ve had trouble with magnetic sheets with some of them not being strong enough to hold multiple dies but this inspires me to keep this process and just look for a better product to use.

    Ah ... you have a librarian's mind. My system is also based on categories but i use a portable file box since it was a gift. I cut out the dies and glued them to the front of the folder so I can be reminded at a glance of what I have. I store extra die cuts in the folders as well.
    I appreciate the detail you add to the layer behind the apperture although most of it is hidden. Good call to stop where you did - I would have kept going and ruined it!

      @nbcascards  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'm in the 'pit of despair' (unfinished basement) so I decided to put my dies on a board on the wall. Same idea, I just bought large sheets of magnet and stuck them on there. If I don't see the dies, I don't use them! It's not neat and pretty such as you have, but it works. 😂 Your aperture card/die reminds me of a similar one I have. *haven't used it in years* I was just thinking there is another way for me to get rid of my excess patterned paper. WIN ;) tfs I think I need to periodically go through my stuff to remind me of what I have. 🙄😐 PS I have two of those art bin die sheets...I now use them to hold my dies when working on a project and again over at the die cutting machine to hold the dies when I finish with them.

    I sandwich my dies between 2 A6 sheets of magnetic photo paper (2 A4 sheets for £1 from a pound shop then cut into 4) then label the top sheet and keep them in a Really Useful box. My overflow is on A5 and kept in an A5 plastic paper storage box.

    My brain works like yours for storage. In addition, I add my stencils, stamps, and embossing folders to my dies, keeping them separate in each section. Then I only have to look in 1 place for birthdays for example. Loving your videos.

    I store my dies in exactly the same way and have done this for a while now. It works because I can keep like with like eg flowers, animals, sentiments. I have mine in three bins- nesting dies, everyday and one for Christmas. The only difference is that I pop the magnetic sheets into either A4 (nesting dies) or A5 (everyday & Christmas) plastic sleeves. I did this as it prevents dies from falling off/rubbing against the back of the previous sheet. PS I'm pretty sure the aperture die you used on this card is from The Works as I have the very same!

    • @nbcascards
      @nbcascards  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Ooooh! Another pretty aperture-die card! Those just speak to me every time. :) Victorian Velvet may well be my favorite distress oxide color.
    I store my dies similarly: I adhere them to magnetic sheets too, but then each sheet is in a clear envelope that's labeled in the same corner. When I place these envelopes in the bin, I have the labels where I can easily read each one and I file them in alphabetical order, (e.g., animals, arches, birthday, edgers, frames, leaves, etc.). Saves sooooo much time each time I have a card-making session. (Plus I find organizing every bit as fun as the creating itself.) ; ) Thank you, Natalie!

    Love love love the card, wow!!! Beautiful background panel that’s seen through the aperture! But also, I love how you chopped that in half to the butterfly from, wow! Loved the continuity!
    Where did you get the aperture die? I’m searching high and low for some aperture dies and I can’t find any, ahhhhh! lol! (I’m in the US though, so any online place you can point me to would be so great, or what do I search?)

      Thanks, Stacy! This particular die is a few years old and from a shop here in the UK. I don't think it's available any more. Sizzix do some though. Search for 'sizzix mixed media die' and you should find some. Also search for aperture die, cut-in dies, peekaboo dies, see through dies. Anything you can think of really! Best of luck. x
