Nice review! I have just booked AY99 for a trip in Autumn. On the Nordics they are running a "summer sale" and fares are decent plus Finnair has a reebokable policy on economy class so why not. The late night departure works quite well as I can work on the Friday and just leave to the airport in the evening. Looking forward to it! Then from HKG I need to take another leg to the Philippines, which may or may not be with Cathay.
Earlier on I planned instead take the partner Finnair-Qatar routing (Stockholm ARN) with their A330 but after the Middle East geopolitical instability, avoiding the ME3 seems quite good, plus it is about the same price or even more economical (FIN+CX) and HKG seems a much more interesting layover city while at it.

Hey there! Thanks a lot for watching! A trip to the Philippines sounds supper exciting!
HK is a lovely city for a layover - make sure you get some dim sum in Kowloon and ride the star ferry to Wan Chai before sunset. I’m sure you’ll love the HK buzz.
Out of curiosity, when say rebookable fare, I assume you mean they waive the change fee once? Is that a sale fare or a more flexible one? If it’s a sale fare, that’s certainly very rare and interesting! Airlines and hotels make good money on change fees.
      Safe travels! 😊✈️

Thanks for the detailed TR! Looks a familiar long haul experience, I've flown them to HK, Bangkok, Phuket, Tokyo. I have enjoyed the flights, nothing spectacular but generally a solid product. On the HK and Singapore routes the cabin crew is outsourced, so Finnish/Swedish language service is basically not available. Apparently Finns are used to this, in France that practice would cause riots :)

Thanks a lot for watching! Good to hear you had a similar experience on your flights with Finnair. You’ve flown to some really cool places with them! Some of my fav destinations 😉✈️

Hi thank you for your useful review! However, if you don't mind sharing your experience about check-in and cabin baggage as well. So the plan is to take the flight from Italy. For the economy class, it is possible to bring the big backpack and 20 inch suitcase to cabin altogether and 24 inch suitcase as a check-in baggage? I concern how strict they are to the backpack size?

Hey there Natasha! I didn’t check any bags myself this time but I did bring my cabin bag and backpack onboard. They didn’t check size or weight neither at the gate nor at check-in but please make sure you follow Finnair’s baggage policy just in case. For a backpack, if it can fit under the seat in front of you, it’s usually fine (i.e. most laptop and commuter backpacks). Don’t stress too much about it! Hope this helps. Thanks a lot for watching! 😊✈️

2:22 I had an similar experience on my flight to London, don’t get me wrong the process was still smooth, but people didn’t respect the boarding groups at all. This I wasn’t expecting, as when I have previously flown from HEL priority has had a seperate holding area, so this has been avoided and the boarding has been done with the groups followed. I find the AY 350s a bit less comfortable than the 330s, as the 330s got completely new seats while the 350s got refreshed seat covers. The empty seat next to me on the A330 could have also helped tho… Thanks for the lovely video, I still do like Finnair even after their cost cutting meassures.

Hey there, Kap! Thanks for sharing your experience. I know it’s not a big deal, but chaotic boardings are not the best way to start your journey - it’s also one of the first journey touch points so I feel it impacts customers’ first impressions. Maybe I’m just getting old LOL!
I thought the A350 had the latest Finnair seats - I will check the A330s out! I know some people like A330s as they typically have slightly more pitch.
Thanks a lot for watching and the positive feedback! ✈️

Great video. Finnair flies the same Airbus from Dallas to Helsinki and I may be flying to Helsinki on the same type airline. The seat appears to be comfy for a long haul flight. Wish Finnair kept pillows in economy and no power outlets seems an unusual move by Finnair. Question: When did you do your seat selection? I would be using miles for this trip and I think I can put up my reservation on Finnair's website to do seat selection but it would have a fee to select a seat 24 hrs prior to the flight and I love window seas so i may have to pay for the convenience. Great video and Dreamliners are my favorite long haul flights.

Hey there! Glad you enjoyed the video! In my case, I got a good seat allocated upon check-in. I think Finnair doesn’t even let you select a seat for free 24h to departure, which is annoying! I’m afraid you might have to pay the seat selection fee if you want a guaranteed window seat. Alternatively, you could also try to ask for a (free) seat change at the airport check-in desk - it sometimes works if the flight isn’t too busy.
Let me know how much you enjoy your flight to Helsinki! Thanks a lot for watching! 😊✈️

Hey there! It’s quite lovely actually - only thing is that shops close super early! On the bright side, it’s a great airport for connections! Thanks a lot for watching (again) 😉✈️
