- Oprah Winfrey brought her star power to the third night of the Democratic National Convention, urging voters to reject Donald Trump and "choose common sense over nonsense" by casting their votes for Kamala Harris. The talk show titan, one of America's most influential women, took to the stage to back the party's presidential nominee.
Addressing a packed arena of 23,500 Democrats, Winfrey called on voters to send Harris to the White House, framing November's election as a battle for freedom. "There are people who want you to see our country as a nation of us against them, people who want to scare you, who want to rule you, people who'd have you believe that books are dangerous and assault rifles are safe," she declared.
