Thank you so much! My hammer drill has been with me since 1994. After all these years, the grease turned into a liquid, almost like oil. Thanks to this video, I was able to take it apart, clean it, and put it back together. Here's to another 30 years with the machine, until my retirement!
Saludos
One of the best drills and a testament to 90s/00s Bosch Engineering. I donated one of these to a friend (it still works) hoping he'd do some similar refresh.
Gracias a este video pude realizar mantención a mi rotomartillo y quedó muy bien en las pruebas. Mañana lo usaré para instalar unos 4"×4" de acero en concreto. Gracias !

Well done and time and money well spent for the repair. This is an awesome tool! Lightweight, powerful and very universal. It even has a left/right switch what is seldom found today. Love that when the drill gets stuck or for heavy screws. This model is about 30 years old and way better than many modern tools.
The best service video including basic short-circuit checks I have found. I only miss a resistance verification of each stator and rotor coil in case it was burned. Thank you, I like no-words and fast-speed videos when it is obvious, what is being done... 👍
I have to admit, I wasn't as fired up about this one. However, I like your work so I watched. THEN I got to 6:38 and I loved it. Boom. That's what I want to see. I wish you'd take a couple of these and show what settings you use for continuity tests, what you test, and why. Really give a full class on testing old machinery. It'll get the most watches as we come back and watch it numerous times to learn what you do.
How did he make it better than new? Unless the new bearings are better than the old ones when they were new, all he did was clean it. The wear and tear on the exterior is still there. This was merely a service, not a restoration.
Henrik Paulsen get a life will you. All I meant is it probably didn’t look this good when new. Get over yourself and let me complement how I wish to and butt out.
This is the 5th tile project we've done where we've removed the old tile before installing new tile, and the first one with this tool th-cam.com/users/postUgkxqqoaX03nrziKwF7Bjjcc71YzLEleMvOS . I want to cry for all the unnecessary work we've done in the past. With this tool, we removed tile surrounding a fireplace, as well as the hearth tile, set in loads of cement, in less than an hour. I highly recommend this tool. It was easy to use, and very satisfying watching the tile literally fall off the wall.
I don’t think I can still re-assemble if I try to Dismantle to clean my Bosch hammer drill the same model of this one. Great skill. Thanks for the video
Thanks for the video. I've completed disassembly of my newly purchased used ghb 2 sr, which looks identical to this one. Need grease and a few screwa that were missing. Thanks again.
All great. Though it would be best to clean up the commutator with a fine polishing pad just a bit, not too much to conserve surface roughness. Sanding it may affect proper commutation and reduce motor life.
Nice tear-down video you got there Sir. I made a tear-down video of Workzone Hammer drill but i wasn't able to put it back, but still At least I saw whats inside it. hehe. lesson learned
Interesting thanks. but how comes when you send a drill back to Bosch for repair and it takes at least 2 weeks to repair, and you can do it in less than 15 minutes , 👍
Malcom,My GBH2SR 620 W hammer drill.,,recently when switched on to use, sparked ,then internally went “Bang” ,I’ve stripped it as far as the commutator, cleaned it,waiting for new brushes A96, off eBay,I want to know how much does Bosch charge to fix a fault, brushes had plenty left on them, cleaned power switch on/ off .there’s a couple of components that could be faulty, but how to test!,, is it worth having fixed .cheers for any info!
That is a cool movie and i can maintain my machine well. But what i want to ask is, how do you wash the gear? Is that laundry - washing powder and water ????
I have a good question,i have a brand new hitachi without hammer only mode there has to be a way for me to shut off rotation, maybe newer shift switch and shifter plate??.i know you know,lol...i think about things most dont
Hi, I disassembled my drill yesterday. the problem is the hammer does not work even after cleaning. I did not find any mechanical damage. pity to throw it in the trash. can you please advise me
Zur Schmierung verwendet man hier Fliessfett, kein normales Fett. Das Getriebe wurde ohne innere Schmierung zusammengebaut u. das Schmierfett nur außen aufgebracht. So macht es die Maschine bestimmt nicht lange.
Why is it always a mechanical fault dealt with? I have an electrical fault, possibly a component ,but no videos on this!only mechanical. Can someone show how to test components on a GBH 2 SR 620W hammer drill! Thanks.
Not to hate or talk bad however the casing on that drill is not meant to have grease in it, it requires a specific oil that has a very thin viscosity. I will likely have other issues due to the grease if it is indeed put back into the work field. Next time try to find the proper oil.
You should not use sandpaper to remove oxidized copper at the surface of armatures as this would damage the armature and causing sparks/arcs when the motor runs. Use metal polish instead.

I am glad it helps you.
I love the way that you make these better than new. Keep up the good work.

What type of liquid and powder do you use (at 4:25) for breaking up the grease and cleaning the things?
Excelente Trabajo mi Amigo... Saludos y Abrazos desde Venezuela!!!

Try selling it spares or repair on eBay.

Using a Makita to pull a Bosch apart..genius!!
That thing was beyond filthy!!!!!
Hammer drills sometimes get like that from standard use. Not saying abuse.
Wow, I had absolutely no idea my hammer drill was made like this.
Now I know how to service mine. Thank you.
Thanks for this video.very good job
Goooooooooooood Working
Another great restore. 👏👏👏
Can you do a video on the Bosch GBH 36 V-LI plus?
Very interesting .
Glad you think so!
07:03 where did you buy the bearings? Any item code?

Very impressive video but it looks like you didn't grease the chuck during assembly. Why?
Fantastic drill that
How old is the tool?
Not that old really, just seen a fair bit of use. The 2-24 model is still in production.

Изначально при сборке ,все трущиеся между собой детали,подшипники,нужно смазывать,а не только шестерни .
Спасибо!👍
I don't agree with installing bearings and such without lubricating everything first, Thanks for the Vid,
