How about obtaining a residency visa card or whatever they are calling it? I thought I read someplace that you have to purchase something for at least $285. €290 ish Euro's I think? If this is the case and one wishes to retire in Portugal, than it would make sense to purchase something that gets you over this threshold. In the end it would be a lot less hassle. What are your thoughts?
There are a number of Visa options, the one you are referring to is ending, for house purchase anyhow. The D7 visa is currently the most popular it requires you to have a passive income but what you buy or rent is up to you.
