I tried a method where you take outdoor Christmas light strips and run them back and forth on the counter then set your seed trays on top for a warming mat. The LEDs make just enough heat and you can heat several trays for not very much money. I was able to germinate lemongrass, lupine, tomato, basil, and many more within a few days.
