Thanks for posting Alton. I was having so many problems connecting my 2017 S90 T6 Inscription's wifi. As it turned out I had to go to AT&T and log in, give them my Sim card # and finish connecting there. Your video reminded me of that step and I am up and running now. Thanks again. Much appreciated.

The crystal in the center console is a sign it's a T8,, not just an Inscription model ^^ You can have an Inscription T6 and then you have a normal shifter

do you need a sim card to set up the wifi hotspot?

No where in the video do you explain the location of the SIM card. You should start with that.

Hey Bhaskar. The Sim card should be in the vehicle, as it happens to be when purchased brand new. If you have purchased a preowned, you should heavily lean on the dealer or the person from which you bought it. If neither of those options work, immediately approach your nearest Volvo establishment for assist. The Sim card is something I may never discuss.

R2D2 - Check! Check! You're connected. I stated that shortly after I mentioned the task. I seriously think you should let your son do all the driving as well. You appear to struggle with instructions. We would won't you to get lost.

Their infortaiment system is just a pain in the ass, what a horrible car. It's impossible to connect anything ...

This seems like a totally assbackwards application of technology. Why would anyone with a wireless connection to the internet (i.e. a cell phone connected via cellular network) need to connect to a WiFi network that is connected to the internet via another cellular connection? What’s the purpose? If they wanted to get the car connected for say map updates, it would make more sense, and a lot cheaper for the customer, to connect the car to internet via the phones hotspot. Every Volvo driver and probably every one of the up to eight passengers likely already has in their possession a cell phone with hotspot capability. This looks like a money grab by cell providers (ATT) and Volvo is complicit in allowing them to take advantage of their customers. Volvo could have easily made the vehicle able to connect to a phone’s hotspot to use that internet connection in every possible way.

Not every device has cellular network, and not every smart phone has a hotspot. None of what your saying is true for all people and all situations. Never guess, research! Honestly it does suck that you're limited to one provider choice (AT&T), which one could argue is because of incentives AT&T gives to device makers, which may include Volvo. But there are several use cases (laptops, wifi only tablets, iPads, handheld video games like Nintendo Switch, e.t.c) that make vehicle hotspots convenient, when a smartphone hotspot is not available.
