Lilith's magic worked in the human world and Owlbert functions just fine, so a magical clone or an impersonator with an illusion would probably be okay for at least a while, depending on how much magical reserves they have, because I'd guess they would eventually run out of magic, maybe? The only thing we know for certain is that glyph magic doesn't work and giraffes have been rendered mostly harmless. More importantly though, that thing is in Luz's house, with her mum, when she's sleeping, and we have no idea what it is. Nope, nope. Get the door back, get it open and set that thing on fire. I love Gwendolyn and this episode because it really shows exactly the type of people that anti-vaxxers and mlms(aka pyramid schemes) prey on. She wasn't dragged into this stuff because she believed in it at first, she was dragged in because every other possible solution had failed her and she was desperate for a way to help. She was disrespecting Eda's boundaries and decisions, which isn't okay, but she was doing it from a place of love and concern rather than of malice. And this love and concern and most importantly desperation made her a very easy target to take advantage of.
This is just me thinking, but I don't believe Belos was the one who created "Creepy Luz". Let's think about it: if he had access to the human realm before, then why did he needed Eda's portal? It didn't make sense! Also, why having the effort of creating a clone of Luz if, to him, the human was insignificant? At the time of Grom, the only one with a known portal was Eda, so one of two things must've happened. Either Eda created "Creepy Luz", or, and this is my own interpretation, Luz herself created, unconsciously, this creepy version out of the darkness in her heart. This version of Luz is but a part of her heart/soul, that has a conscious of its own, and in the near future the two will fight (think of this like Ven and Vanitas, from Kingdom Hearts, or Hikaru and Nova, from Magic Knights of Rayearth).

So either Belos has been setting up plans for a while, or some group or powerful person on Earth is covering up what is happening with Luz for their own reasons. And I'm not sure which is scarier...

I gotta to be honest, the moment I saw that weird goblin thingy get magically cured as momma Clawthorne was walking into the cave, my quack alarm jumped right into the red. "Isn't that convenient, amazing timing." I found myself remembering some of the faith healers, homeopathy, crystal healing nonsense I've seen over the years and knew that's what we had here. It was weird that I could see exactly where this story was going like I was about to be hit by a freight train but loved every second of it.

This morning, I had almost the same reaction to the other Luz. My theory is that magic has nothing to do with other Luz. David Yost (Billy from Power Rangers classic) was bullied for being gay before he left the show. He went to a conversion camp called 'Pray the Gay Away,' where he suffered a mental breakdown. The flyer for the camp Luz was sent to reminded me of that interview. The point is, a lot of conversion camps have been revealed to have questionable methods to get their desired results, and I have theorized that the camp somehow tried covering its tracks the moment they realized that Luz did not show up and her mother was absolutely sure they had her. Theoretically, Police involvement is not conducive to conversion therapy operations.

Fake Luz is likely Grometius the Fearbringer. Grom had read Luz’ mind. That means he has all the necessary knowledge. Including about the portal to the human realm. The fake letters were on the nightstand. Her mom had not mentioned them when she texted Luz earlier that day. It’s reasonable to assume that the letters had just arrived in the evening, after Grom was defeated and had disappeared. The motive? Maybe revenge. Or curiosity. Maybe he thinks he needs to learn about other emotions than fear.
What if there are two luz?? Like the portal just take in the courious, imaginative, dreamer Luz and left out the 'normal Luz' part?? And if the letters were writed by this Luz, and she is like Willow in Understending Willow, not complete, that's why she misspell her name...? Just thinking

There is no magic in nature in the human realm, which is why the glyphs don't work. However, we've seen that if a witch leaves the isles they can still do it because of their bile sack. So I would think that whatever it is impersonating Luz is not something that originated on earth.
Welcome to creepy Luz My Theory from the Grom episode is holding more water: "It seems the letters could have only been coming from those who had access to the portal. My money is on Owlbert. Owlbert purposely got Luz to follow him to get help for Eda and her curse. Once he took the book he paused to wait for Luz to see him with the book. It's possible that he had been watching her for a while before he gets her to follow him. Owlbert created "Creepy Luz" as a cover and that is why the copy isn't perfect. He has the access to the human world and has magic. He is the first to meet Luz. Outside of Luz's group of friends nobody really focused on her or pay attention to her. Even Lilith seems to have forgotten about her until she ran into her again in episode 18. Also we can see Owlbert has his own magic that he used to stop Luz from falling just after Eda runs out of magic and just before Owlbert catches her."
There is a very easy explanation for the "Luz clone", though it's a profoundly unsatisfying one: It's Luz, plain and simple. She went to camp, wrote her mom letters and came home according to plan, and the Boiling Isles is all happening in her head. The Luz we follow is simply a manifestation of her repressed creative spirit receeding further and further away from the real world. That's obvously not gonna be the answer, but it is by far the most logical one.
I don't think Belos has created a clone of Luz. My theory is it is automated when Luz went through a portal to the Boiling Isles, OR, Eda created it somehow. I doubt Belos would have time for that. Next episode I bet will be one of the best, darkest and scariest ever! Plus a form of Lumity will hopefully come to life - as to say, they make love with each other 😍

Grom had read Luz’ mind. That means he has all the necessary knowledge. Including about the portal to the human realm.
The fake letters were on the nightstand. Her mom had not mentioned them when she texted Luz earlier that day. It’s reasonable to assume that the letters had just arrived in the evening, after Grom was defeated and had disappeared.
The motive? Maybe revenge. Or curiosity. Maybe he thinks he needs to learn about other emotions than fear.

There is no magic in nature in the human realm, which is why the glyphs don't work. However, we've seen that if a witch leaves the isles they can still do it because of their bile sack. So I would think that whatever it is impersonating Luz is not something that originated on earth.

My Theory from the Grom episode is holding more water: "It seems the letters could have only been coming from those who had access to the portal. My money is on Owlbert. Owlbert purposely got Luz to follow him to get help for Eda and her curse. Once he took the book he paused to wait for Luz to see him with the book. It's possible that he had been watching her for a while before he gets her to follow him. Owlbert created "Creepy Luz" as a cover and that is why the copy isn't perfect. He has the access to the human world and has magic. He is the first to meet Luz. Outside of Luz's group of friends nobody really focused on her or pay attention to her. Even Lilith seems to have forgotten about her until she ran into her again in episode 18. Also we can see Owlbert has his own magic that he used to stop Luz from falling just after Eda runs out of magic and just before Owlbert catches her."

There is a very easy explanation for the "Luz clone", though it's a profoundly unsatisfying one: It's Luz, plain and simple. She went to camp, wrote her mom letters and came home according to plan, and the Boiling Isles is all happening in her head. The Luz we follow is simply a manifestation of her repressed creative spirit receeding further and further away from the real world.
That's obvously not gonna be the answer, but it is by far the most logical one.
If that's the answer, there will be blood.

I don't think Belos has created a clone of Luz. My theory is it is automated when Luz went through a portal to the Boiling Isles, OR, Eda created it somehow. I doubt Belos would have time for that. Next episode I bet will be one of the best, darkest and scariest ever! Plus a form of Lumity will hopefully come to life - as to say, they make love with each other 😍
