The patch is 16 gauge steel. The roof is steel, but a thinner gauge. I use 16ga because it's a bit more rigid...and that's what I use for roof raise siding, so I have lots of leftover pieces.
Hi my name is Tony Brown Saw your video On bus conversions. I'm thinking about buying a 45' MCI To convert into a motor home I was wondering If those busses make good conversions I spent almost $80000 on a Montana 5th wheel 2021 And I think it is a piece of junk But Before I buy the bus I would like your opinion
MCI makes a great product. We have an older MCI...an MC-7...and lived in it for most of last year. Look up the TH-cam channel of Yvan and Sylvie Lacroix... the Lacroix Cruisers. They've converted a couple of MCI buses and they're gorgeous. Almost any bus you find is going to be of better build quality than an RV, unless it's an RV based on a bus. :-)
Nice job. You guys n that cold weather, kill me.
Very helpful!! Just picked up a minibus and need to get rid of that hatch!! This was awesome!
Glad it helped!
Nice job.
Thanks man! Wonderful Video! 🎉
Nice work shop!
Looks like a beautiful area…. What was the temperature?
Great job👍
Not worried about the surface rust(?)?
Me also what about the rusty piece of metal?
You can see a pic at the e end of the video where it looks like he covered it with primer. 😊
It's just surface rust. Wire wheel it and primer it.
What is the name of the material that you covered the roof with. Is that sheet metal or?!?

What was the blue stuff you added before putting on the adhesive?
That looks like the marker was smudged around after he wiped it with acetone
