One helluva thunderstorm!!! (Woody picked a great time to start napping again) / Equestrian VLOG

- Not my usual type of video today ... We had a weather warning come through for thunder and lightning and naturally, because it's England, I assumed it would be one of the typical 'nothing' storms we are so used to in this country. Boy was I wrong! It started off pretty normal for what we would expect in our area but got louder and louder as time went on until it literally rolled right over us! The video doesn't really convey the volume of it. And the lightning seemed quite aggressive compared to what we usually see too, it struck the ground just the other side of the motorway which was quite scary. Hence my increasing annoyance that Woody chose this, of all times, to play with his little napping habit. My goodness I have tried to fix this problem with him over the years and it just never quite goes away. I'm convinced it is to do with him feeling rushed. Why that affects him I can't be sure, I have my suspicions, but sadly they will always just be a theory. It's incredibly frustrating when he does it at times when I really NEED him to move ... like when an epic thunderstorm is right on top of us ... or when I need him to get back on the horse box so we can go home, or when he doesn't want to leave his stable in the morning when I really need him to get a move on because I am late for work! (gr!). He just can't cope with being rushed and if there is any sense of urgency in me, he picks up on it and shuts down. Anyway, one hand on his head collar from Ian and he saunters right on in there 🤣🤣🤣
I don't know if this is 'normal' weather for some people in the UK, and I know it will be mild compared to viewers in other countries, but for our area this was exceptionally loud and unpleasant. And I'm not kidding when I say I've not heard thunder like that before!
And for the keyboard warriors out there ...
-yes, there is clutter everywhere (we were un the middle of projects) - no this is not the problem, he will happily walk through smaller gaps and has no issues with walking over (and breaking) things I carelessly leave in his way. He will even leave his field to come and 'play with' things we have left out while working. So, not scared of the 'stuff' that's everywhere.
-yes, I have tried all the training advice I could find and have done unthinkable amounts of groundwork with him over the years - no it has not fully resolved the problem.
-no, I don't think there is anything wrong with him per say, he can just be a difficult person sometimes (much like his human mother 😂 We are well matched in stubbornness!)
-yes, I get frustrated when he is being difficult - I am only human!
and yes ... I squeal like a girl when thunder and lightning startles me!!! 😂
Phew, that was a lot of text ... well done if you read all of that! The self-conscious part of me felt the need to explain and / or justify some things because I know what the internet can be like sometimes. Probably unnecessary ... but it made me feel better 😂

Woah what a storm! Love a good storm. Nothing happened here just rain. Woody is definitely bomb proof 😂. Reminds me of trying to get my son out the house to the school bus 😂

I wouldn't say I like the rain per say, but I'm so used to being out in it that it doesn't bother me. Especially when it's warm summer rain
