    Always thought I wanted a big, beautiful house, but as I near retirement, I realize what brings me the most happiness is freedom from daily obligations.

      Owning a big house makes you a slave to the house.

      It can if you don't have the money for it and all of the costs involved with maintenance.

    Totally agree! We live a rich life below our means and that is key...No chasing bills or credit card debt here! Also, owning an affordable home and having security is important. We eat out, travel and live well...Not millionaires and that is not necessary!

I am quickly realising that my energy, health and life are never guaranteed! I want to be able to live and travel when I retire. My plans are changing as I research moving abroad.

    I like your point about appreciating what we do have as opposed to focusing on what we don't. I do believe appreciating what you have in the moment allows us to utilize it for the future. Rather than pinning our hope on something, like the lottery, which I heard has a 1 in 300,000,000 chance of success. Not particularly good odds. 😂

    Ok, what about those people who worked hard all their lives, but are 25 or more years away from living off their social security, no house to sell, no savings, living paycheck to paycheck, but would like not to wait for the retirement age to start experiencing new things? People that have no extra money to invest, no knowledge about investments and no trust that investments is not something that will eat up their hard earned money?

    • @ItllBeFun
      @ItllBeFun  7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Olá! Multiple options come to mind. Creating a side income to generate additional income which can be invested. Taking classes to learn how to invest. Creating a income that you can do remotely so moving would in the cards.
      Moving to a much lower cost of living place or country could be in the cards with a side income or job that can be done remotely that way you could consider moving to an area/ country with a much lower cost of living.

      @@ItllBeFun How do you pay into the local system? Are you permanent residents? If you go back to the US at some point, Medicare is gonna slam you unless you are currently paying for Part B and a supplemental plan.
