The MH knockoffs have the Bratzillaz budget doll bodies with Barbie feet. I do find some of these knockoffs interesting. In my area we have alot of barbie knockoffs and some of them have better quality and more detailed stuff than Barbie right now and are a lot cheaper. I buy some from time to time for articulated bodies and clothing or jewelry. They're sometimes pretty well made.

A nuclear explosion is the only thing that makes sense for the cat and the “human”. As a matter of fact, all LOL, monster high and bratz dolls weird head shapes could be explained away with a nuclear explosion. I never understood the gigantic head thing.
It's partially endemic to the scale of the dolls. Because they are so small, if you make the head correctly proportional, they look really weird (IE the terrifying Emma Watson "Beauty and the Beast" doll) and also the features are kind of too small to see. Making the heads larger means the features can be larger and more noticeable and thus more relatable for children because you can actually see their expression. Alongside of course, the "babyfication" that was discovered during the creation of the "teddy" bear, by making the features more babylike, children liked them more.
I woul have liked to know how much you payed for them. Those dolls (at least the fake monster high ones) are on shops here in Portugal and it would be interesting to compare prices. I love this series!

I actually kinda like the super weird fake dolls. I like to use equally cheap materials to customize them. I found a fake moxie girl doll with no hair at the thrift store that I'm rerooting with lol hair extensions from the dollar store.

7:11 i met a young boy and his mom recently and the kid had picked up his cousin’s baby doll and his mom immediately scolded him and asked if he was a girl. apparently the dad isn’t around much. maybe if the son got to play with all toys, especially ones that simulate a life he might want one day (yknow, a family), he would grow up to be there for his kids.
i remember when i was like 9 or 10 when lol was popular my mom and i went to the street fair and i begged my mom to but me an lol doll and she let me but i remember not finding the doll i got on the checklist and i was so mad at them😵💫

I wouldn't smell those dolls. As you said you might get sick from the toxic smell. I feel bad for the kids who play with these dolls. I remember when i was little my mom bought me a fake barbie but she was in such good quality that if i had her today it would probably sell for a high price because she had a lot of articulations. Back then i didn't like her much knowing she was not a real barbie, but now i wish i still had her in my collection.
2:53 Most or If not all articles about lead poisoning seem to be about a young child, toddler or infant who chews the paint or licks the toy. There seems to be no case of "Adult bought fake doll and got poisoned". And as a child (6 or more years old) I played a lot with some knock offs and nothing happened, I was old enough not to chew on dolls or lick them. When I was like 3 years old I had a few knock offs but I think I only liked to chew the feet of my original Barbie dolls (they had the soft bendable legs), I guess knock offs didn't seem that tasty LOL 😂
I have noticed the generic M.H. dolls on Amazon but this sold in the box is different from the type i bought. There is two different heights the taller 11 inch has the same joint rotation as the Mattel brand the casting material isnt hollow plastic its soft flexible vinyl thats solid inside. The other character who is shorter than the students is Howleen so it could be the attempt for younger siblings. The dolls I bought to makeover were sent in bags but are sold in 5 theyre 9 inches I have got them to look better the eyes are painted good and the lips arent that nice sometime black or other dark lipsticks.
When I was a kid, I had many small, cheap mermaid dolls that I would use as bath toys and literally all of their arms would fall off and so I would just play with them despite the fact they had no arms and I would put the arms in my basket which had my bath toys in. So I basically had a collection of arms that broke off dolls. Their tails would also come out and that bothered me a lot more than the arms and I used to struggle to reattach the tail. It kind of hurt as well. One of them had their head come off too and I couldn't reattach it so I would just use the head and get the other dolls to carry it around. Sounds a bit like a horror movie lol 😂
