It's funny how AC is just a "eh, whatever" kind of feature for you, whereas here in Arizona it's the only thing that matters. Like I don't care how fast a car is or how nice the paint is, once summer hits, all I care about is whether it blows sub-40ºF temps out the vents when it's 115ºF outside.
I actually deleted the AC on my car, rather drive with the windows open, feeling the breeze, hearing the nice engine note. Also , I absolutely hate how the AC center console looks.
Brings back memories of swapping out the gearbox on my 525i, the car propped up as high as possible and then using my legs to position the gearbox. Blood sweat and tears..😅
I just attach the trans and everything to the motor if it isn't dressed you can usually clear just fine I've had my motor in and out so many times in my 533 turbo build.

Good work! I don't don't like how tight the trans tunnel on the e28 is. An M30 + trans was easier for me on my e34 to put back in compared to my e28 lol
That trans seems like it's light as hell... I once had to drop a gearbox on my Audi quattro because I burned out a clutch, while we were 2 men to hold it, we thought that we'll be squished like no tomorrow. I personally thought that it was going to be pretty fine, a little heavy, but not that heavy that both of us could barely hold it. Lifting and lining it up was another challenge to figure out. Somehow we managed to lift it up on a transmission jack, then it went on smoothly eventually. 7hrs job, won't do that ever again on that exact car because at some point I will get rid of it, though I feel like I will regret that decision since A4 B7 Quattros are pretty hard to come in my area.... Now, thinking about that, I will hold on to it, do something about rust, that occurs at 365k km (227k miles) and age of 18 in Northern salty climates.
Hahah yeah man old bmw 5 speeds are fairly light transmissions. I can imagine a quattro trans being super heavy. We live and we learn what jobs we don’t want to do! Haha

It appears that the windows have a tip switch feature, but unfortunately, they are not functioning properly. I'm unsure about how to fix this problem, and it seems that each window would cost around $600 to replace.

Hey there! I've been watching your vids, and I've got a burning question about the M30B35 engine in the E34 535i. Does the fan always match the engine speed? My dad has had this car since I was like 6 (I'm 21 now!), and it's always been pretty loud. I mean, seriously, even when we're cruising on the highway, the engine noise is so loud that we can't even hear the music playing! It's getting kinda annoying, you know? So, I'm wondering if there's something going on with the fan or if it's just how this engine is designed. Any insights or tips you could share? Thanks a ton, dude! Keep up the awesome content! 🚗🎉
What you have is a clutch fan thats fully locked. Its only supposed to be loud like that when car is idling and getting warm. Otherwise when driving fan shouldn’t be clutched on and shouldn’t be spinning super fast/loud. I bet that car stays cold, new clutch fans work like trash, keep it!

Very easy to work on! Parts are a bit trickier to find but there is a good group on Facebook of guys(like me) that can get you what you need! Go for it!
Hello..1984.733i 3.2 question..got a bad cam n lifters in my 733..I have a 3.5 that has a good head..can I swap the 3.5 cam into my 3.2????rockers are junk also in my 3.2..banjo bolt issue..
@@m3nameisjosh464 I've got both apart..valve springs on the 3.5 has 2 on each valve..the 3.2 has one and is thicker..so maybe no go there unless I change every one and bottom holders.maybe that will work??cam though fit right in the 3.2 from the 3.5 and spins free..so there's hope yet..

@@m3nameisjosh464 In Poland e34 is very expensive cara very often reaching prices of new cars (not even talking about m5) for example for 525i in good condition no rust averge prices 35(no air condiition) up to 50-70 k depens ( with air condition) ofc im talking about PLN not euro or dolars so i thought that i will buy a lhd 540i 6 gang and swap over the steerong columne but from what i can see there is no holes for pedals and the column to go in and i dont want to cut the metal between engine and inside i think it is called engine bulkhead( google translate atleat says so) i got offert for 25 k for one in bad condition that i want to buy but maybe it is just better to buy one with auto and swap over the gearbox thansk for any info and sorry for my english...i want to see the numbers of m30+ itb on dyno keep the good work my friend 💪

We only get like 2 months where AC is necessary, otherwise just wait for the day to cool down before driving the car! Haha

My guy, you need to get one of those HF xmission lifts. That said, you did make bolting that in look trivial.

I was wondering about the starter. I had to grind down a Harbor Freight wrench.
I had to do that too. Only barely got mine out when I had my E28.

This tunnel didn’t feel too narrow. A zf in a e34 tunnel feels tight to me!

540i is expensive to to manual swap it, cluch and flywheel and the transmission is almost the same as what I paid for the 540i

Is that the OEM coolant reservoir? I have a 533i and mine looks different. Is that an e28 thing?
Yes oem coolant reservoir from the 528e, m20 is different than m30
