Im a recent amputee and without my left leg I have been absolutely dying to get on something with two wheels and a throttle and I have barely any income so when i came across the Caroma D3 I had to have it and its been so freekin awesome. My jack Russell/beagle loves to ride with me on the open tray (she used to ride with me all the time on all my regular motos before I lost my leg) this things also doubles as my legal mobility device so I take it everywhere even inside the grocery store to do my shopping and so far everywhere I go store employees think its awesome. So far i have only upgraded the brakes with some Shimano xt's and removed the sticker graphics from the lower tray but i definitely plan on doing a controller, 72v battery and motor i just haven't decided on what exactly to get yet. Some stunt pegs would be cool too, i can already wheelie the thing for a short distance but I just got my prosthetic leg like two weeks ago so im being sorta careful not to crash but im determined to be ridding wheelies everywhere soon.
I have the d3 and absolutely love it, I'm 5'10 and 150 lbs and it rides great, is incredibly maneuverable, and has great stock breaks. It's acceleration is pretty sweet too
Man I’ve been thinking about this bike all day now since you put this video out. I think I’m going to get one and hit it with a 60v battery and see what happens.
I was literally gonna order one but there was one video of it on TH-cam so I spent the money on something else and now i find voltron posted on it, would be cool to see upgrade done to it in the future like pro taper bars thrill seekers bar bag bike light bar maybe an underglow and upgraded electronics and motor
I'm feeling just a tad of buyer's remorse on my purchase of 2 Rambler 16s. I've followed your videos on upgrading to 48v and adding a voltmeter. I replaced the power switches with golf cart key ignition switches. Everything works great and my family all have a ton of fun on them but, it has been expensive.
Is there a way to disconnect the speed limiter? Or do I need a whole different battery? I just picked one up and am hoping to get a little more MPH out of it.
i would put a simple fardriver 72160 since its small and powerful it would fit in the box and you can build a molicell 10ah pack 72v for it for around 200 bucks and get this thing moving and stay under radar
@VoltronWatts it's great for a close roadrunner substitute and it's actually cheap with the $50 controller and some hydros for good stopping i may actually build one sounds fun
Probably not the mini. It’s $3,000 and the E&C RTR looks like a competitive option in that price point. Hell, for $3,000 for the mini I mind as well spend another $1,000 or so and scoop a bigger version. 🤙
Can you recommend a good controller to unlock the power? I have a D3 that i just got last week and it's too slow. New to the electric world so any help would be great. Plug and play if possible!
I have a grey color D3, just worried about getting stopped by police due to it having pegs instead of pedals... I'm legally blind (low vision) and don't have a license here in Florida.

Can't wait to see what you do with it

Thank you for sharing bro! 🤙🍻
Got the D3. So much fun! The torque on it is good even tho its limited to 20 mph
Awesome! Thanks for sharing man 🍻🫡

How much does the bike weigh?
Can u take the seat of and put a seat cover on it
I’d really like to see you do a full build on this. But none the less, great video my man! 🍻
Thank you for watching and commenting! 🙏 a full build on this frame would be 👌👌

There's several on TH-cam.

For sure! This bike is a perfect candidate for an upgrade 🚀⚡️
what battery should i get/ what upgrades should i do

I hear ya. The price is right on these little bikes that’s for sure
Cool video I did wanna see a review on this bike / scooter 😎👍🏽
Thanks for watching and commenting brotha!
@ anytime Voltron ✊🏾💯
Do you have a video on how to upgrade the battery for more range? TIA
I don’t have. But its easy to do with a connector I showed and just adding another 48v battery 🤙
Is there a way to disconnect the speed limiter? Or do I need a whole different battery? I just picked one up and am hoping to get a little more MPH out of it.
No, you don’t tune this controller. More powerful components is the way 💪
Saw this guy on TH-cam and he disconnected the blue wires so top speed came to like 30-31 mph. I’ll try it out when I get mine. Hoping it works
I like it so much room for upgrades
Hahaha! Glad someone caught that 😂👊
Pure steel 😂 love your content make that thing faster
Thanks for watching and commenting Brotha! 🫡

I agree. The cheap/fun factor is definitely there ⚡️
@@VoltronWatts after seeing the motor, how do you think it could handle 72v and maybe a votol controller?
@ 72v battery would kill the motor in no time!
Looks like potential for a great project. However, I'm old enough if that there's no full suspension I wouldn't even consider it.
I hear that!
Are you gonna review the E ride Mini or Surron Hyper Bee once they come out?
Probably not the mini. It’s $3,000 and the E&C RTR looks like a competitive option in that price point. Hell, for $3,000 for the mini I mind as well spend another $1,000 or so and scoop a bigger version. 🤙
I love this scooter but the 560w version battery is bad. Lasts only an hour.
I wouldn’t expect to terribly much out of the stock battery honestly. 🤷
@ If I could find a new battery I’d definitely install it.
@@itsddashrock You can find decent batteries. Just search 48V battery in google
@@VoltronWatts Does that kind of battery fit this scooter specifically?
Can you recommend a good controller to unlock the power? I have a D3 that i just got last week and it's too slow. New to the electric world so any help would be great. Plug and play if possible!
I havnt gotten into this bike too much yet. Econic cycles sells fardriver controllers that you can get a matching throttle set for it 🤙
I have a grey color D3, just worried about getting stopped by police due to it having pegs instead of pedals...

Man… that would have to be one ass hole cop to pull you over 😂
First also sick
👊
I think you can cut the wire and it will go 30 something
😳 what wire?!

Oye Caroma! I want to get this version

Bolt a Playmate Cooler on the tray and a six pack and you're on your way.😮🕺🧞♀️🗻🌋
That, is a great idea!
Shoot, for that price I'm getting one too
Right!!
Get the 750 W one you get 30 miles range
@ Boom! Thanks for sharing!
I love Caroma but 19MPH is not enough we need 25 Mph minimum
It’s easy to achieve that 🫡
