Man I'm so glad to find a new reaction to this. You reacted to all the most significant spots in this documentary. Well done can't wait to see you other videos
So glad you watched this. They have a documentary about the 1992 dream team. When Larry won the rookie of the year he took a Celtic team who only won 29 games the year before to a 61 win year and went to the playoffs. You should watch the video for the 1981 championship showing their comeback against the 76ers and their win against the rockets. It was by far one of the most exciting playoffs to watch. Great reaction. ❤
@@Scoopda1 Larry seems like a really stand up guy, he saved Isiah thomas' and dennis rodmans jobs after the comments they made. Even Thomas said "You did us a huge solid."
Thank you Scoopda! I enjoyed watching this with you. Again. Lol, Birdgang will show up for Larry and Magic. And most of the players from our days. It was an exciting time back then for basketball. We looked forward to game nights, and to see what kind of shines Larry was going to pull. They could fight, and sometimes there wasn't even a foul called. Im looking forward to the Dreamteam, and later on, there's an outstanding video of Larry's called, Bird is the word- 15 minutes of Larry Legend. Did you know twitter was named after Bird? 🐦 People had so much respect for his hustle and heart. I just subbed. Thanks again!
I'm glad you're watching this. It makes a lot of things click about these two and the current state of the NBA, doesn't it? Nobody used a ladder to cut down nets. Players and coaches were hoisted up by their teammates and staff. Everyone at the time thought it was stupid and soft when the NBA required a ladder. They didn't call those fouls like today. When you see Curt Rambiss clotheslined, what you didn't see was him jumping up and chasing down Kevin McHale. It was like the Keystone cops. (Look that up. 😉) They let those guys play unless it really turned into a brawl. That was the usually gentle Kareem who threw his elbow into Larry's face. Yet those two today have crazy respect for each other. The guy who started choking Larry first early on in the video was Dr. J. He's the first one you see talking highly of Bird in the ultimate mixtape. Another player did the same to Larry in another game and literally put a hole in his face. Another time,Bird had a broken bone in his face, a concussion, and a protruding eyeball. I THINK that elbow came from Dell Curry. He could see one eye with the other, and saw two baskets for the rest of the game. Yup, he finished it and kept scoring. He had to go to the hospital after the game and have a hole drilled into his face after one of those injuries. th-cam.com/users/shortsery28QTp-XI?si=TX69i2FA-J0DhcfK There were no "flagrant" fouls. Technicals, yes, and sometimes ejections. I get wanting to protect players, but it's gone too far today, IMO. Those guys weren't making the huge salaries until after Earvin and Larry. The insurance companies invest a lot in the NBA blanketing them to a fault. That's one reason so many of us older fans enjoy watching the foreign players like Jokic play more old-school. You should see him live walking a guy backwards without a touch. But to be clear, there are outstanding players in every era. It was just a lot more fun to watch before Adam Silver ruled the game to death. Glad to see things turning around a little.
Their rivalry is one of my favorite things in sports. The whole world saw it as racial, but for the two of them it had nothing to do with any of that bullshit. They were both incredibly good at the same thing and deeply respected each other for it. THAT's the takeaway from the Celtics vs Lakers story that we should all understand.
