- Back with another one! I just graduated from university so videos should be more frequent now. Also just got an MPC2000XL so I might make some videos with that too. I'm going to start uploading some original beat videos to this channel so stay tuned for that if you like this kind of music!

being a producer myself, Madlib chopped the sample around the piano chords buried within the sample. the chopped piano chords themselves sound super smooth within the loop, it's just the chaos on top of everything else that creates the interesting chaotic feel. nonetheless super creative, most impressive flip of his.

This is so perfect its almost mindblowing. Watched like 15 times since it showed up on my recommended. Where are those drum one shots from? is it chopped from a break? when they came in with the sample there is NO doubt that those are the exact same drums
I put a section of the official instrumental through lalal.ai and had it pull out the drums, which I then isolated to the cleanest individual shots of each.
@@Cats-Eye makes sense! This video had me so enamoured that I tried remaking it myself with the sample and honestly the verse chops took me hours to figure out. So intricate. And even then I ended up programming it on ableton by clicking in and could NOT figure it out on drum pads. So impressed with this vid

i am really amazed by these sample machines but i don't understand bat shit about them. do you know where i can learn how these work? or maybe you could do a video teaching the basics of controlling these?
Buy one, get stuck in and learn. The Boss/Roland SP series (especially the 202, 303, 404, 404sx) are a good starting point coz they're relatively simple and comparatively cheap. Or maybe get a Teenage Engineering PO33 - haven't used one but I imagine they're a good starter sampler too. Lot's of vids on this 'ere TH-cam.
@@RunOfTheHind the problem is that where i live these are rare to come by and expensive (usually being sold at 200+ usd. as i don't have a job i can't afford these. but i will take a look at some videos, thanks
@@brvnotrash Realistically. Those samplers he listed are nowhere near cheap except maybe an sp404sx and possibly a sp505. And for the price of an sp404sx might as well just buy the new sp404 mk2 which has the same vinyl simulation as the 303. But with the budget i would say maybe find a deal on an mpc 2000/2000xl or the teenage engineering PO-33 or the newer version being the PO-133 which goes for about 100 dollars and is really good for the price. Either those or Koala Sampler is a really good app for ios and android (maybe).
