    An interesting twist in a nuclear war scenario would be if one side chose not to retaliate. In the interest of all life. That would be a true hero.

      The thing is that if say Russia went all out against NATO and NATO didn't respond, the fires would be so enormous just on the NATO side that it would create a Nuclear Winter for at least the entire Northern Hemsphire if not most of the world so Russia would STILL lose.

    Has the book accounted for the Hypersonic missile technologies that make all of anti-missile technologies obsolete? Unfortunately, it appears there are only 2 or 3 countries that have that technology and we do not appear to have mastered the Hypersonic technologies and means of destroying the Hypersonic missiles yet.

    • @kurtniznik8116
      @kurtniznik8116 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In the book she points out that we only have 44 Anti-ICBM interceptor missiles in our arsenal and tests have shown they fail more than 50% of the time, and there is nothing that has been developed to counter SLBMs, so no one needs hypersonics to obliterate us; all they need to do is launch their nukes.

      @@kurtniznik8116 Hi Kurt, if the opposing side uses Hypersonic missiles with a nuke warhead on a Glider, none of antimissile technologies like our minuteman and radar systems would be able to hit the Glider. I think our inability will be due to unpredictable flight path upon launch and after reentry and the speed. Of course, these are the Russian and Iranians who have shown their Hypersonic missile with a Glider. I think Chinese are still working on theirs. A few days ago I saw a short video of our (first) Hypersonic missile with a Glider. Not sure how our Antimissle technologies that are designed for the old ICBMS (non-Hypersonic world) are going to cope with this new class of threats. I would be shocked if our (USA) scientists are not working on these issues. The Hypersonic world with a Glider with on board Artificial Intelligence capabilities pose very interesting technical challenges.

    • @kurtniznik8116
      @kurtniznik8116 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@barker3877 Per my original comment, in the book Annie reveals that there are no effective anti-missile technologies in service for the original ICBMs and SLBMs, so there is really no additional threat from hypersonics at this point in the state of the technology other than perhaps the response time to ensure a complete annihilation of civilization is reduced.

      I'm not a Sleepy Joe supporter, but it's a lot more than the president. The world is in chaos in general. Joe hasn't done anything to even accidentally start a war. The problem is he keeps giving money to fucking Israel and Ukraine. We need to solve our own problems before we dump billions in for some idiots to play real war games. I don't even want Trump in office dude's just a stupid as Joe he's a businessman looking for an easy way to make money by messing with the economy. Everyone thinks the economy was great, but really, it wasn't. It was a short relief. Which costs us the people more now.
      So think about what you say before you spout some bullshit. This is coming from a Republican.
