The CoolerMaster NR200 can have those two extra 120mm fans at the top while the nCase M1 cannot so the NR200 would likely beat the M1 in thermal performance.

About the pump: I have the EK PWM version of the DDC pump, and have it running at 1400rpm in idle at which it is completely silent. At full speed the pump can go up to 4500rpm but I only use that to bleed the loop

    • @vernacular3289
      @vernacular3289 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The DDC pump in my Apogee Drive II is inaudible over the fans in my system, but my fan profile is a little aggressive so.. HWiNFO claims the CPU_OPT header is reporting 1900RPM at idle and that's where the pump is connected so perhaps my pump profile is also a little aggressive.

If You want to use Iceman Res/pump combo and not want the pump which comes with some versions you need to order the ddc no pump Version. There is a ddc Version with pump and it ist not possible to install different pumps to it cause of the srew hole distance and the hole in the middle of pump mount.
Also since I am from Europe I needed special screws to mount the slim cromax Fans on to the XSPC TX 240 Radiator. It is some US type screw and Ali mentioned no problem there but I had this problem and had to shorten the screws for 25mm fans to match for 15mm fans.

Also waited for months on the Tx240. Using Heatkiller blocks and a HWL GTS240 instead, don't plan on the same Noctua fans getting beyond 600rpm. Using EK 3.2DDC. Even the Corsair 600Plat is the same.
Gotta say the vids did clear up a few questions, I'm just 'facepalmed' by the serious similarities.

Since every water cooling piece you have recommended ever is always and forever out of stock, I was forced to DIY a NZXT x62. I have it attached to a slim 240 EK rad, 2 Noctua iPPC 3000 PWM fans, with vinyl tubing from Lowes. I also had to get adapter barbs to convert the small to large tubes going to the standard rad fittings. One thing I think I'll change is to add a fill port and get fittings that are actually for the smaller tubes that fit the NZXT CPU block/pump. All fitting in a Loque Ghost case.

2:25 Not so sure on the build quality. I'm a machinist so I look at manufacturing a bit differently, but I can see burrs and gouging everywhere. There's a particularly nasty burr inside the water channel itself which will end up getting stuck in your rad or block. All the threads look pretty chewed up, but that's not so big of a deal. A little more attention to detail during post machining QA check is needed and they could adjust the tool path to eliminate that burr.

Hey, I replicated your M1 build with a Aphacool Nexxus ST30 (instead of the EKWB ) and an Eisbaer LT.
I used the TPV Alphacool fittings and 12/8mm TPV hose.
    And it works prefect.
I first thougt the DC-LT 2600 would be to weak, but after filling the loop and some testing, the flowrate seems to be fine.
On my Asus x570-I the pump runs with a 3200rpm max and above 2600rpm there is nearly no change in temp on the cpu/gpu.
So it seems that the flow is enough.
In idle I lower the rpm to 1600 and the loop does not stall. Keeps loop 4-5K over ambient.
My r5 3600 and RTX 2070 Super OC 120% can be cooled to 40K over ambient under full stress and run seldom over 65C.(And that at max 80% for the fans)
My 3600 now runs totaly silent under all core tourture (fans to 900(25mm) and 750(15mm)) .
(The GPU delivers 265W under stress and the CPU 80W)
So the Eisbaer LT would be a suitable replacement.
But it´s also on backorder for weeks now ;-)
BTW: I tried the 3600rpm version and was supprised how loud it was!!
And also no improvment on the temps

I like this solution a lot. Especially as realistically no matter how small the ITX build, you are going to have the PC at least 5-10cm away from a wall anyway to make room for the cables into the GPU and Mobo anyway, so in reality while it adds volume, it is unlikely to add to the surface footprint taken up by the case

My Swiftech MCP35X (the same one in the Apogee Drive II) runs fairly inaudible until about 2500-3000RPM and maxes out at 4500RPM. I would highly recommend that as the DDC pump to get, as it has one of the best DDC specs for flow/pressure and is powered via Molex and controlled via PWM. I personally use one with a Phanteks R220 res but have also used one with the Apogee Drive II before. I keep mine at a static 2400RPM and the only other moving parts in my PC are 5x NF-A12x25s going between 600-1500RPM depending on coolant temp. If the Iceman comes as just the res, it would pair very well with the 35X pump.

You know, it looks like you opted to ignore the vibration isolation that was included (even though they're nearly trivial), you may actually find them to quiet it down a little as the pump's vibration could be transferring to the case and it may be the case vibrating that's causing the noise, or at the very least, adding to it. If you can find an aesthetic way to place an acoustic dampening mat to the assembly, that may also yield excellent results (something like dynamat).

dont worry about it man, just do a lot of research. If youre worried about making a mistake, just copy the components of a build you find that you know works! I just did it and was also scared but everything turned out great!

One of last uploads pushed me over the edge and I started ordering parts. Couldn't find the Swiftech or the thin rad you used! That lead me to the Iceman as well, but also to Hardware Labs rads. Most have written that their thin rad cools better than even EK PE, which means even more clearance. Maybe enough for push pull with thin fans.

It is lost on me why you would add additional volume. Just get a bigger case.

would like to see a build video of how you would build this out. if you would keep the open air gpu or do a liquid cooled gpu w another rad. confused on this video with the gpu thermal results because it doesn't appear this gpu is being cooled by the pump at all.

Expensive, noisy or even more expensive with the right pump, aluminium back plate of the assembly will make your loop mixed metals for increased risk of galvanic corrosion... with two rads I would try to run two Alphacool DDC pumps instead...

    • @ryantakahashi9130
      @ryantakahashi9130 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Back panel is stainless steel, not aluminum.
It could be more expensive when you factor in all the extra parts (res, pump, 2 extra fittings, cpu block vs the apogee which is a cpu block and pump only), but you get more flexibility in what you pick. It also frees up room inside the case and gives you a res while still allowing dual 240 rads. Most people that have a res inside the ncase can only run a bottom slim 240 and a 92 on the back, since they usually mount it to the back of the front panel or to the PSU/bracket. Also the apogee is still pretty expensive and fairly difficult to find for the most part. ($140+ USD) Not sure how much you would actually save if anything by running dual DDC or DC-LT pumps. Might be interesting to test though.
I picked the clear version with argb, a decent plexi cpu block + argb, and a 17w barrow ddc pump and it was about about $175 USD. Call it $185 or so with the 2 extra fittings you need for the res. I'm excluding the 2 you need for the block since you would need the same for the apogee. Obviously it could be cheaper, if you went with cheaper options; like the bundle with the cheap-y P5 pump they have and a super basic block. You could probably get something that is just in line with what an apogee would cost, if you picked carefully.

is there just 1 rad in this video or am i missing something. it appears like its just the cpu being liquid cooled, is that what you would recommend? or would you recommend 2 rads and liquid cooling the gpu with this iceman, but just didn't have the time to do that for the video. curious because i would like to do something similar, unless the temps on the gpu are fine as a open air style.

If the case wasnt $200 I would have loved to do this. Instead I got an ophion evo. Hacked it up to fit 2 240 rads, DDC and 50x100 res so its still pretty cramped. Though i dropped one of the glass panels so i almost spent that much on the case now lol. I am using a bykski 10w pump. Its quiet but its not hard mounted and supported by the tubing.

i don't know if you ever read your comments, but when you click with your mouse against silence, most if not all people watching this dont have headphones on. thus rendering your noise level section a bit worthless? would it be a bit more STATIC if you got a decibel meter for 20$ that compares your main build (with the fans) in comparison with this by using a meter that VISUALLY represents the noise level? otherwise at some points in the video it'll just go silent and it doesn't do anything but that. HOWEVER, i understand to each their own, i was just merely suggesting it.
