We actually read through the entire page of Jerry’s book after watching the episode. I even had it recorded but figured no one would care about it lol. Maybe I’ll make it a Short on TH-cam 🤔
I think the whole episode is somewhat canonical. We finally get to see characters in the same level of or maybe more intelligence than rick.. so he's not the only smartest being in this universe. And The rift is basically just a gateway for evil morty to get out from the central finite curve. And yes you can travel to another dimensions with it. But with the rift open, rick can't really fix his portal traveler. Which i think he delayed fixing the rift and portal traveler because by fixing it... there's a chance that he'll have to deal with rick prime again. And from ep1 he kind of agreeing with morty to let his revenge path go and live his life as morty's grandpa instead. I think this season will be focusing on rick Prime instead of evil morty.
I didn’t make the connection of the portal traveling being impacted by the rift. And, yes, a great point we didn’t discuss: Prime Rick is still out there. I expect we will come across him again before the season is over. -Andrew
