It's from the 6th hole that the course really begins to come amazing. Every hole from here is fantastic.
Turnberry holds a special place in my heart. My baby girl was made there! ❤️❤️❤️
I remember watching Tom Watson lose there few years back and was really inspired to play it, me and the missus came up for a weekend in the hotel and I played golf on both courses. They had a piper outside the hotel at night playing bagpipes, it was beautiful. Then 9 months later my baby girl came along. I'll always love that place now 😊

All I can say is “WOW”! Spectacular
Was an absolute privilege to be a junior member at Turnberry. Went back last year to play and can honestly say the improvements are simply magnificent. The Average Golfer will struggle to justify the HUGE green fees though and won’t get the chance to enjoy the experience unless you decide to remortgage, but playing with PXG so I assume it isn’t an issue for ye! 😂

Great vlog Andy, you picked a good day ! Like you, I love links golf. When I started playing 29 years ago, once I got an ok handicap, I wanted to play a few Open courses. Played 8 to date, Turnberry as it was 20 years ago. The 9th was a par 4 then, the first a shorter 4. Today it looks better, the 9th looks fantastic. With me, I'm sure it is with you, it's a spiritual round of golf, following the greats in history. Same at Gleneagles, Crail and North Berwick. Playing these great courses is a wonderful experience that you capture perfectly. Your best work yet, be proud. Good bunker shots too mate 😉👍
Man, would have loved to have that weather when I played there. We had 55°, rain, and 35mph wind. It was a struggle, but like you said, just enjoy the setting. It was fabulous.

Half the field off before landing in front of the Hotel - it’s one of those courses that are just so much better when you walk it isn’t it.

I hope its stays off the Open rota until the ownership changes. Not one for me, the people in Aberdeen were treated awfully to force them out. Maybe soon under difference ownership it will be back as an Open venue but not before.
"Don't go left." Your mind doesn't know negative words like don't. What it heard was "Go left." Always express positive thoughts on the golf course. A beautiful course I'm sure i will never get to play. I have played TPC Sawgrass though. Always enjoy your vlogs.

Stayed there last year at the hotel and played both courses it was an amazing experience and i hope to go back one day

World class course and one that everyone would love to play and experience....but tbh my top course is Carnoustie.
Played it 2.5 years ago. It was driving rain and blowing at about 25 knots and cold. Got to first tee and was straight into the breeze, didn’t even make the fairway....🤦♂️ A very very good track and a fair test, just way too good for me on that day. The scenery is spectacular.
It was a pleasure to play but I must admit I preferred Carnoustie, Birkdale, Portrush, Lytham and St Anne’s, The Old Course, Troon, County Down and my all time favourite Dornoch.

Wow mate! You're "livin' the dream!" That certainly looks like a serious test for us handicap golfers! Wonderful experience though....whether or not your golf game is at its best.
I won a FedEx invitational at the belfry and the prize was two rounds at Alisa and the Kintyre. This was when it was a Westin hotel.
Rocked up far too late on the first tee, shirt hanging out, no practice. Creamed it just short of the green. There was three foursomes waiting for me to hit, and it felt good. Great course, loved the hole where you play along a valley, slight dog left, number 6 I think it was. The Alisa is a class course.
Played both courses at Turnberry last year - both stunning but Ailsa takes some beating
Another great vlog maybe you should consider doing tours of small groups of all these amazing courses 👍🏽
I’ve seen the Crossfield crew vlogs from this course. I honestly cannot say that I’ve seen a better course, any where. Premium.

nice video, but unfortunately trump's name forever staines turnberry. im really glad it looks like the open isn't returning whilst he is owner which is a shame because the course is clearly spectacular

Have you played Waterville in Ireland…it replaced Royal Birkdale as my favourite course…I played both courses at Turnberry in 1987.

I haven’t but it is on my list, Ireland is a trip for me next year
@@TheAverageGolfer Waterville is in the south we stayed in Kenmare and played 4 great and famous courses near there in a week.

Love the feel of your video's, and Turnberry certainly came across, I will never play there though as I would not want to play anywhere that Trump has trodden on.
The 18th had a guy next to the bushes on the right with a flag to let you know that your slice has been found. He must be there all day.

There is one Big fault with this course and you find it in the name. It is a No Go-area. Not a penny I would spend that eventually could end up in Donalds pocket. For real!

Nice course but because of the owner I would not play this course!!! So many beautiful options in the area where the owners are not destroying the world.

Hate to say it Andy but one of the few places I will never step foot on. After the way he treated locals when building his Aberdeen course i refuse to contribute by playing any trump course.
