Just watching this excellent video of Box 1again after more than a year of no dancing apart from solo practice. This is definitely a combination to have in my box of salsa moves!
Box 1- what an amazingly beautiful neat move! I can hardly believe it's a Beginner move! Great verbal and visual explanation. This has to be the next move I learn- I want to be able to do this on the dance floor!
Excellent move and teaching. Heads up you switch your timing when you broke down the footwork around the 2:55 mark, left foot should be 1 instead of 5.
Great move- it really is very elegant! There is one thing I don't like when I watch your videos- at the end of all of your videos the previews of the next 2 videos appears and it interferes with watching the whole move done completely without stopping. One suggestion for any future videos- I would recommend adding at least 15-20 seconds to the end of each video even if it is just sound and you guys smiling or even you guys off camera with just music so we can see the all the steps without the previews blocking your moves. Thank you for all your work- i have learned a lot watching your videos.
Hi Oscar, that would be possible but less nice. This is because the box starts from 567 onward. Just making a basic step would be less actice. Besides the enchufa gives you more momentum. Please check for more videos on salsaventura.nl
Este es el tipico ejemplo de alguien que aprendio a bailar ya viejo. Cuando en su otro video habla de un "sistema" para bailar, ya mostro cuan lejos esta the comprender que es el baile.
Hi Duane, The footwork that the man uses to walk around the lady is also called a box step. That is one of the reasons. Second: since the man is not turning but keeps facing the same direction it feels as if he is walking around her in a somewhat square motion. Hope it helps. Please check out more at salsaventura.tv/. You may not be the best salsa dancer in the world, but you are the best salsa teacher I have ever seen.
Thank you Morry/Vanessa on another excellent tutorial. This move has elevated my dancing immensely.❤

Very sharp! Indeed a mistake. All recordings are done in 1 shot only (no cutting or editing) so yes, a small mistake. Thank you for letting us know!

Great figure, can you start that with an openbreak instead of a enchufa?

Thank you for your kind words.
Can you put the name of the song in the description? Ty
The CD is all the way in the bottom of the text
This may seem a silly question, but why is it called a box? It doesn't appear like the box you would see in rumba or waltz.
Probably because the steps form something of a rectangle

請問:這隻是什麼舞?
Cuando enseña, marca en 1; pero con la música, no
Hola, tienes la razon. La música fue agregada más tarde. Debido a esto, a veces hay una ligera desviación en la sincronización.
