- In this Video we are gonna make some manganese sulfate from manganese metal and sulfuric acid. This year we are going to do a lot of sulfuric acid experiments because I have to get rid of it within a year. Other methods of making manganese sulfate will also be presented in the future so stay tuned!

Im sorry for the earrape at the end :(
I’ll try to change it in the future.
yes, thy.
I was just about to do what I never do. But watching this at midnight, it blasted by wife out of slumber and I got the look. Then I saw this comment and I thought.... Oh well.... Thanks for the video. I needed to make some manganese sulfate phosphoric acid test solution to test for chlorate contamination. Pity I can't seem to find the fabled Potassium Permanganate, Sodium bisulfate and hydrogen peroxide synth. Seems like it would be a good lab route, but for the life of me, I can't find anything about it. Perhaps its an idea for a new video. :)
@@derekturner3272 If you send me a paper on the preparation and how this reagent works I might try.
Wow, that manganese sulfate poured out of the glass dish so easily. Our compounds always seem to stick to their containers. Thanks for the chemistry video!
Well that’s what happens when you stir often enough and evaporate off the water until complete dryness :D
Fortunately the melting point of anhydrous manganese sulfate is high enough to avoid that it just melts during the process.
Putting PPE in with the rest as required equipment is genius.
If I made something more dangerous I would habe even included a gas mask. I think some people would think about recreating this stuff and therefore it is better to keep everyone safe by showing what you need for your safety :D
awesome
Where did you get the manganese metal from?
eBay
