Tom Jackson , 1983 when I graduated from high school and I was a fairly new Christian still learning then and reading scripture often and had a pocket bible with me in school to have it to read. Was a small entire imitation leather bible that can fit in the pocket . I marked verses in it with a colored pencil as a highliter . Now i have many bibles to study with at home but i wish i knew what i know now for back then which would make it more interesting . I was not as highly smart as other kids then is why. I rarely got an A as a grade but got a few of them before graduating.

I've had a tough year and an even worse past 30 days when it comes to drifting away from God. One thing I have come to know without question is messages like this sermon are 100 percent facts. Thank God he always pulls me towards him when I need him. Every time things get bad it's my fault for being weak when Satan tempts me. Every time I have been in despair and give it all my might to live in accordance with God my mind and spirit returns to light and a feeling of peace within days. Trying to never drift away again.

Joel Osteen takes the Word of God and break it down to its simpliest form so the masses can understand. That seems to be his gift. His style of preaching is authentic and very effective, he is being himself. I would not compare Joel with his dad. Comparison is a theif, it is not good to compare yourself or compare anyone else with anyone. you should not take your weakness and compare it with someone else's strenght. Focus on your strenght and don't compare yourself with anyone.
My friend I'm sorry but I don't agree with you. The purpose of the gospel is to bring awareness of heaven n hell (especially hell). Between heaven n hell, the Lord Jesus spoke MORE ABOUT HELL. If the objective of a preacher isn't the same... then that preacher is not Jesus servant. (John 12: 26)
Very true Orlando! Comparison is a thief! I like the saying "It's unfair to compare." Every thing has its individual pros and cons. You're right Joel has an excellent way of making bible stories come to life and delivers them with such profound emotion, humanism and detail that they move you and make your understand situations and events so much greater.

This is my first time to listen John Osteen's messages and I can say that it's freeing in my part. For long years now, I am being captive by the thoughts of FEAR. But, by hearing this message about winning the battle of the mind makes me realize that I could defeat the tactics of the enemy against me by replacing it with the what the Lord says in the Word. pastor osteen's program used to always be a favorite and unfailing part of every Sunday night for me. His messages were always short and to the point. He always had uplifting and victorious messages. He epitomized the victorious life of faith in Christ. He was important in that he never allowed defeat to creep in. In this life of conflicting ideas and supernatural evil forces I never let his program feeling less than encouraged. His life was a glorious whirlwind of shared victory in Jesus. His body ultimately failed him much to soon for any person who ever sat under his teaching. I loved the man.
I like how you said his sermons were short. I wish all preachers would realize that the message doesn't need to be 30 plus minutes long and that there are more elements to a service than just a message. After about 10 minutes I'm ready for him to sit down and let us go home.
I thank God that Me and my family had the opportunity to sit under this teaching from 1994-1999. I was in those seat absorbing this powerful teaching! He and Dottie were very down to earth 🌍! Joel is down to earth also!! Please remember Joel’s is not his Dad! We sat under Joel too! We love him too! If you don’t like Joels style. Don’t watch him! I've had a tough year and an even worse past 30 days when it comes to drifting away from God. One thing I have come to know without question is messages like this sermon are 100 percent facts. Thank God he always pulls me towards him when I need him. Every time things get bad it's my fault for being weak when Satan tempts me. Every time I have been in despair and give it all my might to live in accordance with God my mind and spirit returns to light and a feeling of peace within days. Trying to never drift away again.

Never should God's truth be watered down! It's *SO refreshing* to at long last, see a TRUE sister in the Lord notice that the Lord's power and truth not being preached and speak out about it! It *hurts* me to say it, but the "Christians in name only" are out in droves and think the watering down of the truth is either okay or it's a GOOD thing! They have no idea, sister, no idea! Joel Osteen takes the Word of God and break it down to its simpliest form so the masses can understand. That seems to be his gift. His style of preaching is authentic and very effective, he is being himself. I would not compare Joel with his dad. Comparison is a theif, it is not good to compare yourself or compare anyone else with anyone. you should not take your weakness and compare it with someone else's strenght. Focus on your strenght and don't compare yourself with anyone.
My friend I'm sorry but I don't agree with you. The purpose of the gospel is to bring awareness of heaven n hell (especially hell). Between heaven n hell, the Lord Jesus spoke MORE ABOUT HELL. If the objective of a preacher isn't the same... then that preacher is not Jesus servant. (John 12: 26)
Very true Orlando! Comparison is a thief! I like the saying "It's unfair to compare." Every thing has its individual pros and cons. You're right Joel has an excellent way of making bible stories come to life and delivers them with such profound emotion, humanism and detail that they move you and make your understand situations and events so much greater.

This is my first time to listen John Osteen's messages and I can say that it's freeing in my part. For long years now, I am being captive by the thoughts of FEAR. But, by hearing this message about winning the battle of the mind makes me realize that I could defeat the tactics of the enemy against me by replacing it with the what the Lord says in the Word. pastor osteen's program used to always be a favorite and unfailing part of every Sunday night for me. His messages were always short and to the point. He always had uplifting and victorious messages. He epitomized the victorious life of faith in Christ. He was important in that he never allowed defeat to creep in. In this life of conflicting ideas and supernatural evil forces I never let his program feeling less than encouraged. His life was a glorious whirlwind of shared victory in Jesus. His body ultimately failed him much to soon for any person who ever sat under his teaching. I loved the man.
I like how you said his sermons were short. I wish all preachers would realize that the message doesn't need to be 30 plus minutes long and that there are more elements to a service than just a message. After about 10 minutes I'm ready for him to sit down and let us go home.

I thank God that Me and my family had the opportunity to sit under this teaching from 1994-1999. I was in those seat absorbing this powerful teaching! He and Dottie were very down to earth 🌍! Joel is down to earth also!! Please remember Joel’s is not his Dad! We sat under Joel too! We love him too! If you don’t like Joels style. Don’t watch him! You don’t have to speak negatively about him! I love his Dads style to. We live in north Texas now. I will always love the Osteen family! God bless you all!
