I remember Pastor John took time to shake people’s hand , during a roller skate for the church . I was putting my skates on he came and sat by me and took the time to hear me and pray for me . He took the time now a days you got pastors with security and a don’t touch me Attitude . Learned a lot with him and reading from the Bible .

Today, I finally checked out the father of Joel Osteen. I am blown away but this guy. How i missed him all of these years I don't know. But he was GREAT. Simple, not slick, straight talk, and positive.
Attended in '83 to 84.Then started traveling with an evangelist.Miss him,he was so gifted and annointed.One of a kind pastor and could be very tough.He spoke out against sexual sin often.
Tom Jackson , 1983 when I graduated from high school and I was a fairly new Christian still learning then and reading scripture often and had a pocket bible with me in school to have it to read. Was a small entire imitation leather bible that can fit in the pocket . I marked verses in it with a colored pencil as a highliter . Now i have many bibles to study with at home but i wish i knew what i know now for back then which would make it more interesting . I was not as highly smart as other kids then is why. I rarely got an A as a grade but got a few of them before graduating.

So many beautiful memories of John osten. This man was very filled with the Holy Spirit, he ust to come to ALFC in El Paso on cotton st. This was 40 years ago when I got born again , he was truly a man of God. Even though he's went to be with the Lord his teaching are the same today, tomorrow and forever Amen . I love the anoiting power exhibited prior to the new mileneum.....we have kept the Holy Spirit out of the church today and now see the absence of His power.....we have watered down the gospel to pacify people....let's get back To the anoiting Holy Ghost filled power of God who heals and sets captives free!

Something to definitely pray about. The "political correctness" trash has caused the Gospel to be "watered down" so no one is "offended" and you know, sister, that is NONSENSE! Never should God's truth be watered down! It's *SO refreshing* to at long last, see a TRUE sister in the Lord notice that the Lord's power and truth not being preached and speak out about it! It *hurts* me to say it, but the "Christians in name only" are out in droves and think the watering down of the truth is either okay or it's a GOOD thing! They have no idea, sister, no idea! I listen to OLD preachers on here just to hear it! (Leonard Ravenhill and David Wilkerson are SO GOOD!) TRUE men of God in their day who preached God's truth straight from the Holy Spirit!

So many beautiful memories of John osten. This man was very filled with the Holy Spirit, he ust to come to ALFC in El Paso on cotton st. This was 40 years ago when I got born again , he was truly a man of God. Even though he's went to be with the Lord his teaching are the same today, tomorrow and forever Amen . It is such a blessing to here him preach, thank you Joel Osten many blessings.

I am from West Africa… Nigeria precisely, I have been following Joel Osteen since 2018 but one day , something came on the inside of me and asked me have you listen to his father’s sermon and I got to search for John Osteen and when I got it I tell you the truth John is greater than Jeol…. I love Joel but I wanna be like is father John.

I truly thank god I found pastor John osteen ,I listened to him every night until I fall asleep and first thing in the morning as I get ready for work, my I pad is alway by my bedside table , what a blessing ,he has taught me so mush about faith and obedience that its the key to answer prayer. God has answered so many of my prayer. Saw a difference when I became more obedient reading the Bible is the key and praising god .I am so bless to be where I am to day in the lord, because I'd being under pastor John osteen teaching .He truly a man of god.
