- Here is a ride on 6601, a brand new 2024 Nova Bus LFSe+ electric bus that entered service on route 984 Sheppard West Express during the evening rush on November 27, 2024. This bus is one of 340 new electric buses being delivered to the TTC over the next two years. I previously saw this unit on back-to-back days in September, testing on Eglinton Avenue East.
I rode this unit for a relatively short journey from Sheppard-Yonge to Sheppard West station on route 984. At the same time, I gave commentary and provided my first impressions on TTC's newest electric bus in five years and the first ever one from Nova Bus. From what I heard, as more of them enter service they will be split between Arrow and Eglinton divisions.

Wow, it has a door chime, just like the 2023 New Flyer XDE40, that’s so cool, I saw it in person once at Finch station but was at training, great catch 😎👍
It's a nice sound for sure.
@ yeah, the New Flyer’s door chime sounds like a baby door chime 😂
I managed to catch one of GRT's LFSE+ buses a couple weeks ago on a live stream. It was a smooth af ride
They look nice
I’ll have to catch these at some point def like the new chime sound
It’s way better than on the XDE40s
@@AlexGetsAroundTOdon’t think I’ve heard this type of traction sound on a bae system either sounds different from all the hybrids
Btw I think 6012 entered service this morning as well I saw on a cptdb forum a picture of it running on an express route I think
@@Dark3str3ap3rwashere Yes it entered service on the same route
1:31 it sounds like a bird singing in a nursery rhyme 😂😂😂😂
Yup lol
Nice I’ve gotta catch these soon
Ima catch these soon
@ cool
4:08 sounded like the TR old chime
Yup lol
Wow!! We will be getting ours soon in Montreal
Yeah I heard
@SkyOfTheUniverse yeaaaa
I was also on that bus yesterday too
Wow I like the door chimes on these and they actually are allot more quieter then the DRT LFSE+
Yeah I heard DRT just got them. The door chimes on these are better than on the XDE40s
4:08 Sounds like a Mitsubishi Chime
IN A BUS !
Nice one. Unfortunately for me, I don’t get to go transit fanning often anymore since I’m busy with college but I’ll have to catch a ride on one of those soon. I’m not crazy about the fact they have plastic seats because sometimes when there are new buses the comfort gets a little worse in my opinion. The Nova Hybrid from 2023 had comfy seats. If you don’t like the plastic seats, then you won’t like the seats on Miami transit (even though Miami doesn’t interest you at all) because these seats down there are really hard and hollow unlike the seats on the new TTC electric buses.
I’m no stranger to plastic seats, I’ve sat on them on buses from HSR, YRT, DRT, STM and MTA. They’re not the best.
I knew they would enter service in November. I also do like these buses.
The interiors of these buses are very similar to some of the ones we have here in Western MA. Our buses used the exact same plastic seats, and some of ours even have the same little yellow things on the top of the seats. We do use the different color scheme on the seats, blue instead of red, but otherwise they're nearly identical.
Interesting
Excellent bus ride video.
Cool I still need ride on a XD40 and XD60 cause I never been on one yet
Awesome!
Thanks!
love ya alex I love you going in a adventure like busses and stuff
I ACTUALLY DID NOT KNOW THESE WERE IN SERVICE LMAO, nice catch tho!
Thanks!
Ima catch these buses when they move to eglinton
Awesome, I’m really looking forward to them.
They are really nice!
Wow, that was unexpected but cool at the same time. I hope it appears on the 36, 52/952, or 96/996 cuz those are the only Arrow routes accessible to me.
@@Alt1229_Transit I doubt they would since I believe there going be at Wilson division for right now but maybe in future we could see them doing an arrow route
@@Bela_Bat2025It’s pretty obvious they are going to arrow. And why would Wilson get all of the 136 electric buses? They are obviously being split with allot of divisions.just know that I’m not being rude or anything,I’m just saying.
@@TTCTRANSITFANNER Ik bro I mean to say spilt
@@Bela_Bat2025 Oh okay, sorry I guess I misread your comment or something.
@ no lol I forgot to put it while commenting on Alex it’s video lol
Yessir
Nice video Alex! 6012 is out now too!
Wait really??? 😮
@ It was but went out of service sometime at 1:00
@@TTCTRANSITFANNER oh
@@TTCTRANSITFANNER It got changed off and replaced by 8882 to do the rest of the 99/984 block.
@@AlexGetsAroundTO I hope we don't have a repeat of the XDE60s
They need to put this on the 93 because it goes through a residential area and its like always running so it wakes some people up and they only have one bus on that route
Alex there's something rare about the 108A Driftwood. I saw a 7305 in transit now app
It’s probably a RAD or helping out idk
@AlexGetsAroundTO Idk and yesterday I filmed some subway actions at Jane Stn
MAN THAT EASTBOUND ROLLED LOUDLY OUT OF THE STATION
AND THE WESTBOUND ALSO ROLLED LOUDLY INTO THE STATION
Interesting how this 2024 Nova LFS & the 2024 New Flyer XCelsior have the unit numbers from a decommisioned Flyer/New Flyer. The XCelsiors with #60×× from the Flyer D901As which probably came from some of the Bombardier TRs which I bet have been renumbered & the LFS' with #66xx before #6640 from the New Flyer D40-90s. Considering the #66xx Novas & the #60×× New Flyers are based out of Arrow Rd. I hope I could one day catch these buses on Route 927 Hwy 27.
Interesting observation
Hey there, I'm new here and I'm the bus leader who put names on buses, Nice video anyways
Thanks
@AlexGetsAroundTO No problem Alex
12:07 OMG I LOVE SABRINA CARPENTER
@@TheOGDieselFanatic Haven’t heard much of her music but her song “Espresso” is good
@AlexGetsAroundTO I like " Please Please Please"
Hmm,it sounds exactly like the xe40/60s we have in the MTA,but I think there’s a different bass or smth
I’ve been to NYC. Seen a couple of them
awesome job Alex :) ~Liam Ninja
Thanks man
If the TTC plans to place more than 300 all-electric powered buses onto the streets of Toronto until anything is done, the entire Orion fleet will be retired from passenger service. Both NovaBus and New Flyer are the primary manufacturers.
Is the plastic or vinyl seats on new buses a Transport Canada requirement? TTC is the last to phase out fabric seats
I have no idea
How’s the smell inside?
@@thevultrantransituniverse1487 Surprisingly it didn’t have that “new bus smell” but it was pretty clean
I know Brampton Transit ordered LFSe+ and it did not delivered yet lmao
@@hanssamson5436 I’m looking forward to seeing them on the road as well
Sounds abit like the subway, only better and quieter
@@paulstark1832 Yup lol
Our LFSE's here haven't even been all delivered yet. They were built almost a year ago and still not in service 😂😂. The longer they take, the better. They're absolutely junk! They're also very too heavy with all the batteries
@@NewFlyer1159 The STM in Montreal is almost like that. I’ve heard from other TH-camrs
Nova busses rattle and shake, noisy. uncomfortable ride. Toronto roads are terrible. have yet to be on a Flyer.
@@mxr572 Yeah the diesels and artic buses are a bit uncomfortable here, however Montreal is way worse than us in terms of road and ride quality on the Novas
Gross!!! New flyers better
@@NewFlyer1159It’s not terrible unlike the artics/diesels and in Montreal but I agree, I’ve yet to ride the new XE40s which just entered service
