And congratulations Larry for reacting to this DIFFICULT song because lyrically it is brutal and it is very difficult to capture all the references. One of them is... Em, Rhymes his 1st verse with letter A, (decAde, sprAy, met DrAY, catch strAys, press plAy, essAy, SA, then goes to rhyme with the B (Biggie, Beef, Beat, oBesity, Benz, b!tch, stick Ball, Base, etc) and then goes crazy with the C while mentioning alphabet soup!. 🐐

JID wasn't rapping about the East/West rivalry, he was talking about the Eastside of Atlanta where he grew up. When he says "All the OGs round town was our age" he's referring to the fact that people were killing each other so often that the young people were now considered the OGs which is very sad.
By the way, shag is UK slag for having sex. "Barbara Tatted up" is a reference to a song where a rapper named Fabo yelled out Barbara Bush's name because he thinks women like her have secret tattoos.

JID is my favorite rapper in the game right now. One of the few current rappers I can think of who is close to Marshall’s level of technical skill. Seeing that he was on this album felt like Christmas came early.
He was great on this track. He gave us a glimpse into his neighborhood
Me and my friend listened to the album together and we both have been really into JID the last few years and we went crazy when we came to the JID feature
Oh, and I forgot (and I think I forget many more haha) In the beginning he said "from the moment u press play".... Diddy had an album years back called, "Press play".... "Must be on base if u think u can touch my car", base is a slang name for drugs and ppl are saying Diddy is on drugs or was at one time, Diddy also blew up someone (Kid Cudi) car in the last, "must be on drugs if u thinkin ur gonna mess with my car"... 😬
You might use a car as a base when playing stickball ..but his car isn't sitting out on the street. On base to think it is.

During the beginning where he says R.I.P on the Shirt, search, lurk, murk, squirt, durk, first, it's referencing the order of events after a murder.
R.I.P on the shirt -> The person who was murdered
Search and Lurk -> Looking for the murderer
Murk -> Murk is slang for murder, so this refers to killing the killer
Squirt -> Blood squirt after getting killed
Durk -> Could refer to a.) Dirt, i.e the body being buried, b.) the word itself means an unruly person, c.) it's another way to say dark.
Lastly there's a background vocal at the end that says 48, which refers to 48 hours, which is the most important time in an investigation

After the word 1st, you can hear 48. First 48 which is a series about homicide. Then he goes into a different flow & talks about his friend who was doing 4+8 (48). If you get real technical 4+8=12. 12 is a number often associated with police presence. Sh*t is crazy! Then EM comes in & sends you into a tailspin!

The touch my car is a huge line, referencing how people would use cars in baseball and a base, when he says "you must be on base if you think you can touch my car". On base can also mean on drugs, and it's also another Diddy diss because Diddy blew up kid cudis car in 2012

React to Eminem - Evil deeds, it's a underrated song I think you will find some humor in.
The lyric video contains some incorrect lyrics; I wish people would listen more closely to what is being said or verify the lyrics.
Can't iterate enough a lot of the lyric videos are so wrong and it's no wonder people get confused. Also, if the ad libs are missing, especially on Em songs, a lot gets missed. It's tragic that people push out rushed/incorrect lyric videos. But good job on following along on the track and content man!

Do a reaction video to a Knox hill breakdown of one of Eminem’s songs that you think went over your head a little bit or that you’re curious about that you think you missed stuff on. Your em appreciation will grow so so so much more if you understand everything he’s doing it’s absolutely crazy. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy your reactions and if that’s as far as you wanna take it I’m here for it but if you want to dig a little deeper into the meaning of some of these songs then react to Knox hills reaction vids and I promise you won’t be disappointed and we will all love it. He did the essay, as in writing, at the beginning of that scheme. Then he transitioned to ese as in Hispanic man. Then he said S-A as in sexual assault at the end. Which transitioned into the P Ditty part.
And the part about the Tec spray. A Tec nine is a weapon. He's comparing his words to bullets. They are going to spray. He later does the same thing with the entire toaster scheme. Those are all gun and ammo references.

5:34 TEC Spray is talking about the Tec-9 a sub machine gun.
It is rumoured (or more or less accepted as a fact) that Diddy put the hit on Pac to get him killed, and might have also been involved in Biggie's death (you might remember that in Killshot which was Em's diss song for MGK he says "the day you put out a hit (as in hit song) is the day Diddy admits he put out the hit that got Pac killed").
So in that "r-a-p-e-r" verse hes calling diddy out for the allegations that have recently been made against his of sexual abuse. SA = sexual assault, and then he says "did he?" Which sounds like diddy. He then says RIP biggie and Pac, further confirming this is a line against Diddy

The P Diddy might be the bar of the album. Cause, Diddy has been alleged if lot of sexual assaults, where Em mentions him as a rapist. Then, it gets extremely crazy when Em says about RIP Tupac and Biggie, cause there are rumours that Keefee D (also mentioned right next) was the gunman appointed by Diddy to kill Tupac. Em finishes the scheme by saying you can't kill me in a track lyrically, rather you may do me by literal murder like you did with Tupac.
Keefe D said it himself that he was the guy in the car and his nephew was the shooter (he's dead now) and that the Diddler promised them 1kk$ for killing Tupac and Suge Knight. They didn't get anything.
Side note: Keefe D was Eazy-E's friend.

A TEC is short for TEC-9 (which the rapper Tech N9ne named himself after), a semi-automatic rifle. Also "toaster" is hood slang for a pistol.

It's strongly believed that P Diddy had a hand in Tupac's death and possibly Biggie's death as well. Em left out the P (Diddy) in rapper to go in on Diddy being a r*pist and then said RIP to Pac and Biggie, they should still be living. Whether Em truly believes Diddy did it (I think he does, and I think Diddy did have a big hand in both) he's using this song to diss Diddy now due to all the shit that has come out about him recently. It's pretty genius lyrically, and humorous that he immediately takes it back so as not to have a hit put on him as well.
13:17 I don't think he has any beef. I think with Em...it's almost second nature sometimes to just think he's got some beef with whoever he mentions haha. But a lot of the time (ESPECIALLY in more recent stuff of his, he'll use just current events? He has some issus with gun violence and he may have had issues with how it was run (the set) but yeah, I don't think he meant it maliciously. And the shooting happened in 2021...so it's better than if it had happened closer to this release (plus Baldwins case was thrown out.)
He usually is much more expressive if he's going after you in a mean way etc.

The lyrics aren’t totally accurate. Too many rush to put it up to get the clicks they miss important information or get it wrong. Like Eminem’s verses are so badly transcribed like “King Kong called me kamikaze” it’s “keep calm and just call me kamikaze” and that’s just a single line.
Like JID says “RIP on the shirt “ then says “search, lurk, murk, squirt, dirt” basically outlines how murders happen.. they search, then they “lurk”/surveil, murk or murder you by squirting a gun, then you are in the dirt.
Then he yells “first 48” because they say if a crime isn’t solved in the first 48 it’s odds of ever being solved drop drastically. Then it’s followed by saying his friend is doing “4+8 without a court date” implying he took a deal/fall.
And JID isn’t referring to East coast vs West coast, he’s just talking about East Atlanta where he is from. So you can safely avoid talk on that. 😂

A lot of those videos are put out within minutes of a song's release to capitalize on the hype and flood of listens. They don't usually have the lyrics on hand and are making rough guesses as to what is being said. In retrospect it's always frustrating to see the mistakes they made since they never go back to correct them.
