I have a 2006 TR 186, really similar, good boat. I appreciate the honesty about the speed. I’ve run 120 mile round trip in tournaments and have been on Ontario and Erie on days other bigger boats sank.
Get Yourself a New Triton 20 TRX Patriot!! I bought one brand new last year and Love it. They are great boat for the money. I haven't had any issues with mine and I saved about 15,000.00 compared to other boats in this size. Do I think they are they best boat made? No, but they all have good and bad about them. I think the quality is right up there with the rangers, phoenix, bass cats, etc.. , maybe one step below them but what you get for the money, Triton is the best value! By the way love your channel, keep up the great work!!
Have a 2007 Triton 21X2 and it is still ROCK SOLID! Just repowered it with the 250 Pro XS 4 Stroke (Fortunate to find one!). No need to add a new boat, it has BU* Load of storage and plenty of deck. I do advise you and ALL with fiberglass hulls to get Gator Bunks on your trailer. You won't notice the blisters until you jack the boat off the trailer. $$$$ If you want the blisters removed and hull refinished. It also may damage more than just the Gelcoat. Glad you are getting Bog a new boat!
I like the one you did with JT and the nitro for price point and customization ability for the diy you do. Ultimately, it's fishers choice and it's all about what works best for your style of fishing
Always wanted to see a rundown of your rig. For the longest I thought you were in a 21 footer with how tricked out it is. Can't wait to see which boat you choose. 🤙
Just got my 2022 179 TrX and love it. It comes in at 8'8" so it's a good size for me. I dont tournament fish so 🤷. I commented before on one of your vids, for the money and quality you get from Triton, they are hard to beat. Tight lines and keep the info coming 👍#ks_bass_snob
I've had my predecessor to the 189, the 18XS, since new in 2014. She's been really good to me over the years. Not the fastest, not the most optioned, but she's a good ride that fishes a lot bigger than she is. My only complaint is the big center storage compartment in the front deck. It's oddly shaped with no organizer, and that's where I like to keep my tackle. My boxes in there tend to slide all over the place. I wish Triton would have offered some options for that compartment. And that's a fantastic idea with the car mat. My steering helm blew the shaft seal 3 times, carpet under it is completely stained and ruined.
@@riccochet704 I would agree one the center compartment...saw a video of someone here on tube that made a pretty slick organization insert in theirs. Wish I recall who it was so I could link it.
I’m suddenly feeling good about my setup. 17.5 115hp. Three 31 SLA batteries 24v terrova. But no poles or jack plate. Full tank and full livewell 2 people still get 48-50mph.
We've chatted about the problems (leaking, lack of quality control) I had with my 2018 189. After getting them sorted out I am really enjoying it. You're right, it's a price point boat. The 18 TX was rated for 200 hp, but honestly I'm happy with the fuel economy, reliability and how quiet my 150 four stroke is. Tight lines Mikey, enjoy your content and you've taught me a lot. Keep up the good work.
@@ryanwilliams-ui4nr Just saw this, a lot late! lol It's a 55 mph boat. I've seen 60 mph once with a very very light load and a tail wind, but it'll haul a load around at 55 all day and sip gas while it's doing it.
Congrats on new boat Mike. I have 2006 Ranger and it's the dream boat of my whole life. I'm 57. This will be my last boat most likely. Love your videos man.....

I’m a Bass Cat Caracal owner, and love my boat. Prefer boats in the 19’6” to 20’0” range, so my 19’8” Caracal was perfect!😂 However, of the boats you’ve shown I loved the Phoenix most. Did love JT Kenney’s rod lockers (being able to access it from outside of the boat) and how he stows his push pole (Definitely borrowing that idea)!😂

I really liked the layout of my 20TRX but the higher gunnels were kind of frustrating if I ever wanted to flip back towards the back of the boat. If you get a chance, check out the legend V20. That would be super cool but there’s no way I could handle that financially I’m not big-time enough.

Awesome boat! I have a 2020 19trx it has a 225 and will run high 60 low 70 loaded!! Check them out.
In my opinion your boat would make a great high school fishing tournament boat. Let me know when it's time to sell her. I would love to replace my 17 1/2 60hp Aluminum boat. I'm a boat captain for my son's HS fishing team on Grant. My son and I are tired of being passed up by other boat on take off tournament morning. are
Tight lines!
Will do when I’m ready to sell it I will post it on social media
Phoenix
Is it for sale yet
nope sold many months ago to a really cool guy in AL
@@mikeybalzz just curious how much
So ,basically, you need a bigger boat b/c you're a tackle hoarder..lmao
Nice work ,Mikey. \m/
I think skeeters and caymas bass boats are above the rest but thats me
Hey Bog!
Vexus best boat on the water. Period.
You dont need a bigger boat... you need get more organized and plan your fishing better. No need to take 106 jerkbaits and 18 lbs of finesse plastics if its summer time and your fishing certain techniques... just my opinion
Phoenix or Basscat, but if serious tournament angler go Phoenix
Nitro Z20 !!!!!!!
Straight up,ill trade you my 10/36 jon boat for it,all I want is the boat, trolling motor and blades, you can have the rest. Straight up,my trolling motors down so I aint floating 😭😭😭
U should look at a BassCat
Lol "us average guy getting priced out of the market" then his boat is nearly price of my house 🤣
13ft gheenoe with an 8 horse and the 3 gallon tank
I don’t believe in power poles move and cover the salad here in Florida
You know your getting a Nitro. Take a look at the Caymas boat first.
Before buying a Phoenix, check and see how many NDAs Phoenix owners have had to sign.
