@@mcrchickenluvr And, by percentage, it's 41.5% over budget! Hardly "a little bit"! I HATE when they do this! Even the 2nd dress is 25.5% over budget. Why even ask about a budget if you are totally going to ignore it?
She looks positively radiant in the tea-length dress! Not a very good consultant showing something way over the lady's budget! In my mind 'wiggle room' is perhaps 100 more, but that consultant's not the one paying for it. Of course, this is for a TV program and they have to add some drama.
They always say don't try on a dress that's over your budget because if you fall in love with nothing else will compare. I think the consultant was way off even offering some that was over by half as much as her budget. The 2nd dress was beautiful and being on sale, let her get accessories to dress it up, something the 1st one wouldn't allow for, even a veil. She was lucky she loved it, too.
lol it's not going to rub off from mum rubbing it haha... *if* a baby has a bald spot, it's largely due to rubbing their head against teh sheets/blankets in the crib....
For the consultant to say that they have nothing else in her budget is bull$&@$ It may not be as sparkling but they do have it🤔 She is just worried about her commission 🤔
Yeah, so concerned about her commission that the second dress was nearly half the budget. Could it possibly be that she showed the most affordable sparkly gown they had in stock?
@gloryakiepper7918 I agree, but this is not David's shop. It is Dando London. But IDK what these commenters expect, considering almost all of their dresses only START at her budget. And she won't get any sparkle or anything else she wants. She is there, so they showed her the dress that most closely matches what she wants in her budget. Otherwise, the cameras would show " sorry, but you went to the wrong place."
My wedding dress alone was $300 after tax. I checked and that's 243 british pounds, and it has lace, sequins, and is a tulle A-line gown. For the "little bit" over budget the first dress was, it could buy almost 2 of my wedding dresses (I just bought it December of 2024). There are tons of affordable dresses out there that look just like the first one. Tbh it looked plain for 1.4k
I really like the tea length, but my dress for my first wedding was tea length, so maybe I'm not impartial, but I do think her figure looks better in the tea length as well. Let's face it, all brides are beautiful!
I like it. It is very 50s and classic. Very classy. But within her budget. Beggars can't be choosers here. And it is only a dress that she will be wearing for one day. I agree with the bride that breaking the bank for a dress is not worth it.
LOL. She went there. On purpose. With a pittance of a budget. Most of the dresses in that store are way over that price point. Therefore, the consultant showed her the dress that most closely matched her vision and budget that they had. What is wrong with that? The bride wasn't obligated to buy it, correct? And she decided on another dress. So what is the problem?
I agree with most of the other commenter's opinions. I think the consultant is greedy, irresponsible, and unable to follow the simplest instructions, THE BUDGET!! Why even bother to ask if you're going to show something so far off the budget. I think the bride to be looked happy and beautiful in the chosen dress.
LOL. Commission on that is almost nothing. Don't push your ideas onto the consultant. This shop is in a MALL. It doesn't have a stock room that has an upper floor like Kleinfeld. She asked for sparkly. The consultant picked the dress that most closely matched what she said she wanted with the dress that was cheapest. Cry more that the bride can make a decision that suits what she wants.
Her budget. And what she wanted. What do you expect? Miracles? Dresses in that store almost all start at £1000. And those are the cheapest. The ones that match what she said she wanted are way more than that. Besides, the shop is in a mall. Therefore, it doesn't have thousands of dresses. So her selection was severely limited. Surely she knew that when she applied for the show. Why don't you think that the BRIDE went to the wrong place to find her dress?
LOL. She has eyes, you know. Someone with a strict budget would have asked before trying it on in the dressing room. Oh, I see. You think that this reality TV show is real and that the producers didn't have them have this conversation again in front of the cameras for drama. And ask that the bride act like she heard it for the first time. Really. Watch it again. Do you really think that she just heard it? LOL
LOL. For all these brides who go to an Essex - in Britain - shop that has couture dresses and come with a £1000 budget, they all have champagne tastes on a beer budget. The consultant showed the bride what they had that most closely matched what she wanted and her budget. What is wrong with giving her an option of 2 dresses? Is she not an adult who can decide which direction she wants to go or not? Cry more that they treated her like an adult who went to a shop with a budget of where almost all of their dresses exceeds. She decided against blowing her budget (which I concur - it is just a dress for one day), and all is well. Why are you upset?
I thought so too. It looked like she had a dress on backwards. The neck was far too high for her small frame, the shorter length made her look even shorter overall, and it was a weird 1960's style, not the fairytale style she came in for. Why didn't she try on other dresses? I feel she was forced into liking that dress.
Just stop. Consultants do not make that much on the dresses. 2% commission is almost the same on a £1400 dress as it is on a £1000 one. And the commission on a dress that is not bought is £0 The bride went there on a shoestring budget. Maybe at David's Bridal she could have gotten a bigger selection, but she didn't go there. She went here, where most dresses are way over that budget. Y'all complainers do this all the time. Try to focus on what the bride's budget is instead of just calculating the percentage of money that the choice is over the budget. Then you will understand. When a bride comes in to make a decision, the consultant needs to show them more than 1.

I proposed to my husband and we've been married for 33 years. Not sure why a man always has to propose. Either way seems fine as long as it works for the couple.
The dress she chose fits her so well there won’t be many alterations..she looks beautiful!
415 pounds is not 'a bit' over budget.
And it's not even considering in the alterations. Yikes.
I should imagine they have already chosen the dresses they try on before filming.@@RMGCBK
Speaking as an American, 1,415£ is almost $1,800 USD as of today. With alterations it would probably be closer to $2,300. If not more.
@@RMGCBKHow difficult can it be to respect the budget they are given?!

That is not wiggle room.
To be fair, the bride did ask for super sparkly, and the consultant showed her the least expensive they had.
Shame on the consultant for even bring a dress so over the budget. Greedy is what she is.

Good for her! She stayed within her budget! She looked so very pretty!
That poor baby is going to be bald! 😂 mom's gonna rub it all off! 🤣🤣
I couldn’t stop watching. Poor baby already has a bald spot there 😢
I was thinking the same thing. Poor baby!
Hahahahahaha
Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed 🤣

Love the final look on her. The neckline is beautiful, and she looks so happy and comfortable- can see her dancing all night in it. 💃 ❤
That is just what I was thinking, all the fun and dancing she will be having in that dress :)
For the consultant to say that they have nothing else in her budget is bull$&@$ It may not be as sparkling but they do have it🤔 She is just worried about her commission 🤔
Yeah I thought it was BS too
That was a totally b**** move to pull the more expensive dresses first
David Emmanuel has an extremely busy shoppe. You would be surprised Kleinfeld starts at 1500 and not a great selection.
Yeah, so concerned about her commission that the second dress was nearly half the budget. Could it possibly be that she showed the most affordable sparkly gown they had in stock?

That tea-length dress is perfect!
I'm not going to lie, but i don't like her in that dress. I feel like she said "yes" because it was in "budget." I hate the neck line on her

Please stop rubbing the baby’s head. It already has hair loss where she is rubbing so much!
Slightly over the budget? Seriously? $400 plus alterations, tax, veil, undergarments and shoes will run her over $2000.
In the U.K., tax is already included - you don’t add that on after. But yep agree it could end up going over
LOL. She went there. On purpose. With a pittance of a budget. Most of the dresses in that store are way over that price point. Finally, a sweet bride with friends who cares. I don't think the consultant should have started off with a dress above her budget. Rude.
I hate it when consults do this, it's not fair, the budget is there for a reason, greedy consultants just want more commission

@catladyfromky4142 not upset, just budget conscious with a simple opinion.
A tea length dress looks strange with a veil.
The boat neckline of the dress did not suit her at all 👎

The bride is petite (short). Tea length, a sparkly belt, and that neckline all do her no favors. Three horizontal lines on someone that short? No.
50% isn't "a little" over budget!! >:(

Thats 140% of budget

For a tea length dress it is too long. Hope they make it shorter. It now looks like a to short weddingdress.
I think she's just a shorty, an awful lot of wedding dress lengths assume the wearer will be tall. I thought it looked nice and neat on her.
I think the dress made her look short
What kind of nervous tick is that? Poor baby is half bald
