That uniform is virtually identical to 7 Hussar uniform my great grandfather was in 7 Hussars for a year in Hounslow but went over to Kings Dragoon Guards and then went out to India for two years lost horses out there came home and mechanised then WW2.
The magnificent uniform of the RHA also has certain similarities with that of the artillery of the French Imperial Guard of the Second Empire (1852 / 1870)
I saw a video a couple of days ago, one of the Household Cavalry fell off while training in Hyde Park. It was a bloody woman. Why on earth would any woman want to dress up in all that heavy, uncomfortable kit. I belive they are in tank crews now. How are they going to manage to fix a broken track? Ridiculous.

Sorry I am replying to my open question here. The Mounted Guard stops at 4.00pm ( 1600hrs) and the Dismounted Guard continues until 10:00 pm. ( 2200hrs) just realised this is the 4 o'clock parade.
The Kings Troop RHA provide the guard at Horseguards every June when the blues and royals and the lifeguards take their horses to Norfolk for a summer break
OK, the ex-tank crewman in me thinks, "Dang! Them some darlin' lookin' gun bunnies!" [the uniforms, not the females] The US Civil War reenactor in me thinks, "Damn. They're well drilled. The horses know the drill better than the troops do!" But the American combat veteran in me thinks, "From an old American cavalry corporal who did his hitch probably before your parents were born, please accept a respectful tip of the Stetson. Thank you for your time and thank you for your work. You know what for."
Queen Victoria started this particular ceremony. She had noticed the less than immaculate turn out of her Horse Guards one time and insisted the detachment parade everyday at 16:00 for a uniform inspection. The order was never rescinded and carries on to this day.

At the end of the 100 years the tradition was to be dropped however, the senior officers of the Household Cavalry liaised indirectly with her Majesty and it was agreed that the tradition would be upheld "until the end of time" out of respect to Queen Victoria. Two weeks of the year the King's Troop take over the duties and responsibilities of the Household Cavalry. The "Queen Victoria Punishment Inspection" is carried over to the King's Troop at 4pm every day for those two weeks.

The soldiers of the Royal Horse Artillery are as you say are ceremonial, but they are also trained soldiers and medics who can be deployed in the territorial defence of the country
It is a mainly ceremonial inspection, ref above. As such they most likely would have been inspected by their Corporals beforehand so that they are not correcting headdress and center alignment in front of the public. The standards of uniform are generally the responsibility of the section commanders to enforce, not the officers, they just ensure that their section commanders are doing this to a high standard.
I concur. The officer seems to rush through the inspection. When the Household Cavalry conduct this Parade, the officer exchanges a few words and a smile with the NCO and troopers. This female officer of the RHA just wants to get back to the Mess.

When did the New Guard ( mounted) move into their positions? I can only assume that the two Mounted Troopers we seen here were being relieved.

Just a small point, but they are Gunners, not Troopers, as the Guard is "Found" by The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery.

Co-ordinate the timing between them, only the lead rider does it. The female officer marches very sloppy compared to the guard.

Its a ceremonious army role, you never see combat and your working with horses everyday thats why theres alot of women.

Nothing changes. For any army parade it is practised until perfect. Then the officers join in and fuck it all up.

I don't know what Armed Forces you served with, but in the British Army we never, ever use the term "aligned". We always use the term "Dressed Off".
