yes! I believe she's from New Zealand, like her mother. Their accents are always so interesting to hear for a non-English speaker like me :)
The funny thing is the people are complaining about the movie, when the writers of the book even said the movie was better than the book.

OH MY GOD, ALICE'S ACTUAL ACCENT IS TO DIE FOR. TOO BAD THEY HAD TO CHANGE THAT WHEN SHE BECOMES LENA. But then, I can't see Lena on that accent lol
Actually, in the book Ethan says that Lena doesnt have an accent. Much less a southern one.

Such a great cast Emma Thompson, Viola Davis, Jeremy Irons, and Emmy Rossum are all great actors. And the young actors seem pretty good too.

Keep a watchful eye on stunningly beautiful Rossum. She's only just begun.. Already, at her tender age,she's showing versatility ("SHAMELESS"? Who'd have thought?) She has a passion for acting. I'm fortunate in that I'll get to watch her grow as an actress. I've not seen the film and the other comments have convinced me to read the book first. My opinion of Rossum remains unchanged. She grew as a Protestant in Brooklyn to an Old Guard Dutch father and a Jewish mother! Fantastic combination.

Some of the scenes in the movie never happened in the book. Like in the movie when link shot ethan. That never happened. He got STABBED in the stomach by SARAFINE not link.
Beautiful Creatures is a wonderful movie. They should make a sequel.
This a great love story. This movie is very well made apart from the books. But i havent read the books so i suppose im being biased. Just wanted to let people know not to pass it up based off of box office sales or critics. Its a well acted drama with a strong emphasis on love, loyalty, the supernatural, and faith. I've watched it 3x!
I'll only be seeing this for viola and Emmy
Ridley is so . Awesome I love her.
I kinda like it short and red though.
And I've seen a video where it shows Ridley with blonde hair but only for the flashbacks to before she was claimed. I think it's to differentiate between the innocent Ridley and the "evil" slash claimed Ridley.
The best movie I have seen so far
Alice Englert's accent change from herself to Lena Duchannes is so different. She sounds so British and then it changes to a Southern-y/American accent.
I declare this movie as epic!
Ive seen this film and read the books. The film is nothing like the books. There is no song or the dreams or the fact the can talk to each other through their minds. The plot is so different i mean Lena was claimed in the second book when she was seventeen not when she is sixteen. And Ethan's meant to die and the book of moons witch Lena uses brings him back-none of that is in the film.

In the process of reading "Beautiful Darkness"...very disappointed that Marian will not be in the movie...but after reading the book really excited to see how it plays out... hope there will be a movie for Beautiful Darkness as well

Although I can agree Jeremy Irons perfect for the role, I still prefer him being an incubus. I mean, the Ravenwoods Dark Incubus storyline would have fit to the sequel
omg i want to see this movie so bad i met the authors today at a street fair they write the most amazing books they are amazing and the just couldnt make a better book series
the books are all soooo amazing. The last and fourth book only came out this month and the whole series is great!

I have never read these books and I think this mmovie looks really good! I normally liek reading books first but maybe it won't matter too much. I've read people complainging about the cast but I think everyone in it looks amazing!

Actually when I read the book it felt like Amma and marian were one person so I can see why did that. Also they were a lot of characters. Also the book had a lot of locations so knowing it's time and budget to put it together. It's hard to adapt like can see that. What I understand it just feel the environment and characters like are reading the book like did when you read it. If not that's still ok.
