    I love how you are so detailed Mrs. Erica. Your video simplifies and leaves no room for misunderstanding. Very thorough! I have a granddaughter...she's only 1 right now, but this curriculum makes me want to find a preschooler to teach ha ha! I can see myself trying to teach her at 1:)

    I just purchased the Letter of the Week curriculum and found it fun and very interactive. For printing, I have an HP printer and I pay ) $19.99 a month and can print up to 700 pages per month.

    Hi, Erica, i just purchased Letter of the week curriculum, i can't be more happier, you have done fantastic job putting together the curriculum, I'm so happy and words can't express that. I can imagine how many hours you invested into making curriculum. appreciate your creativity and hard work!! Could you also, please, share which app do you use for making videos or make a video tutorial how you edit your videos. Thanks a lot!

      Thanks so much, I'm so glad you like it! To edit my videos I'm currently using Cyberlink PowerDirector 12. It's pretty user friendly, but has some limitations. I might switch to Final Cut Pro at some point :)

    Hi Erica,
    I purchased the LOTW curriculum a couple years back for my daughter and would like to do it with my son now. Would it be possible to get a copy of the document you showed in this video that showed some of the activities for each letter? I am not sure if you did that for each letter, but would be really helpful for me as I am planning each week which activities to do with him (I am a visual person and this would help greatly). Great video too! I loved how you explained everything and the tips you provided. Look forward to more of your videos on the different curriculum you offer and other homeschool tips. Thanks!

I bought the Letter of the week curriculum and also the K4 curriculum for my 3 and 4 year olds, and I was wondering if you can do a video on how to do the "life size" chica chica boom boom tree? I want to get started so it can be ready by the time I start the school year in September. thank you!

    My daughter is two years old and she does some letter of the week activities at her daycare. I wanted to supplement on the weekends and during the summer so I was looking at your curriculum for that purpose. I really like it, but I'm wondering if you think its too advanced for a 2 year old. Thanks.

    Hi did you get the basic preschool curriculum or the one the is for a classroom I think the one for the classroom is expensive and the basic is cheaper I am not sure which one should I get?

    • @erica_arndt

      Hi, you will want the personal use version if you are using it for just your own kids. If you're using it with a daycare, co-op, or classroom you will need to get the classroom version.

    Hi Erica!
    I'm heading over to buy for my third little to use your program (we used it for our second daughter about 5 years ago), so thank you for such great programs!
    Quick question, is the letter at a glance, you showed in beginning of the binder, available within the download? I know you said it was for a convention, so I wasn't sure.
    Thank you!!

    Does the curriculum go in alphabetical order or skip around? Thanks!

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I normally suggest teaching vowels first then move onto consonants. Once children have learned their vowels they can start doing beginning blend sounds with each consonant. So for example after learning a,e,i,o,u, they move to letter ‘b’. They can then use the blend cards in the curriculum to learn beginning reading skills. So they’ll say ‘ba, be, bi, bo, bu”. Once they have that down, they can add another consonant to the end to create “bat, bet, bit, bot, but” and so on.
      After you get through the vowels, you are free to do the consonants in any order you like, for example if it's snowing in your area you can do the S is for Snowman unit during that time. I don't think it matters the order of consonants, but I do suggest teaching the vowels first so that you can start blending beginning sounds.

    Is your Letter of the Week and K4 Curriculum for 2015 the exact same as it was in 2012? I bought them both from you in 2012 and I don't want to miss anything for the 2015 version if it is different?

    hi I am teaching my Granddaughter she is 2 and I have been trying to get things organized to teach her, what should I put together and how wondering if you can help me.

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just make your time right now fun, do some fun activities, right now let your child guide you some. If they're tired/frustrated, bored, etc. Stop the activities and try again later. Also, work mostly on fine-motor skill stuff right now too, like transferring objects using tongs or tweezers, play-doh, painting, cutting, lacing type things. All of that will help tremendously when they get older and start to do pre-writing. I also have a ton of posts on what we did with our toddler when she was ready! www.confessionsofahomeschooler.com/blog/tag/teeny-tiny-tot-school

    Would this be considered 4 year old level, or is it appropriate for a 3 year old?

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      BreAnn Loveland Hi BreAnn, it depends on what your child is ready for. I normally use LOTW for ages 3-4, then my K4 for ages 4-5. The LOTW introduces letter recognition, sounds, number recognition, counting, basic math skills, pre-writing practice, and all the necessary fine-motor skills that will be required for your preschooler to be ready for kindergarten! Included are weekly lesson plans that cover all the subjects a preschooler needs.
      Following the Letter of the Week program I also have a K4 Kindergarten level curriculum. The K4/5 Curriculum is great for kids age 4-5 who are ready for Kindergarten. The curriculum introduces beginning reading, math and handwriting skills that will give your student a huge advantage as they proceed through their elementary years.
      Upon completion of this program, students will have a basic understanding of simple addition and subtraction, place value, basic 1 and 2 vowel words, and beginning reading skills, logical thinking and much more! With this curriculum you also receive 34 weeks worth of daily lesson plans to help guide you through a full year kindergarten skilled activities.

      Thank you, Erica Arndt for getting back with me. I am a first year home schooler to my 3 year old. I feel like I'm going in a little blind. But your reviews certainly help.

    Roughly how long do you spend per day doing work? I know some activities are art related but I'm just looking for an estimate

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really depends on my child, for preschool I try to do about an hour to an hour and a half each day on work stuff. But if they're having a hard day or getting frustrated I'll usually cut that short and move on to something more fun. You can also alter a "work" activity with a "fun" activity going back and forth. Sometimes just getting up and moving around or doing something creative between activities can help :)

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Due to size the files come in .zip compressed format, so you will need an unzip software to fully open them to view and print the PDFs. You can get a free unzip software by Googling “unzip software for (Your operating system like Windows or MAC)”
      After that, they are regular PDF files, and you just need Adobe Reader (free software) to open and print the files.

You can get the 2016-17 one here, if you're ever looking for my most current version just search 'daily learning notebook' on my sidebar and the most current one will pop up :)

    Whats the difference between the Letter of the Week - Download and Letter of the Week - CLASSROOM, and is the CD needed as well?

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! The classroom version is for use in a class or co-op setting with multiple students, day cares, or multiple homeschooling families all using it together.
      The regular download or CD is for personal use with your own children only (no matter how many you have!). If you plan to use it with just your children, you only need the regular personal use version.
