I love how Abadon just screams, interrupting Shida’s finishing move. Then Shida just sits there, like she’s thinking “wait a minute, I’m a wrestler not a sports entertainer” and proceeds to go back to finishing Abadon. That was hilarious and badass. I love it.
It's a beautiful touch. Shida really sold Abadon's scariness and creepiness. I really enjoyed this match. It has depth, storytelling and most of all, PRO wrestling wacky weirdness in the vein of Undertaker, Ultimate Warrior, Million Dollar Man, etc..

Sign Abadon!! This is the best storytelling in a women’s match in awhile!!! People were into it, and not just for the T and A! This is what is missing!
First time in a while the crowd seemed invested in a women's match too. It's like 90% women the fans want to put over as baby faces fighting each other with little logic, story or reason. Nyla is a beast but other than her who is gonna offer a legit heel for them to bounce off? Botch Baker? Mel? Awesome Kong has left while Hayter and Priestley are away half the year as is Sakura so sure sign Abadon up. She can come in with little need for plot as she's a package antagonist with the gimmick and can slow pace the spot style of AEW well using her style and gimmick. I liked what I saw
This was really well done in-ring story telling. Shida went into the match visibly scared of Abadon, but as the match progressed, Shida progressively gained more and more confidence against her. Eventually, at the climax of the match, Shida overcomes her fear, pausing for a moment but ultimately defeating the monster Abadon. All this without any words spoken in a 7 minute match. Absolute excellence! Had this been WWE, they would’ve hammed it up to the point of having Shida running around the ring to get away from Abadon, and then the match ending in a DQ because of Abadon persistently biting Shida
Or run with it for pure comedy, like Orange Cassidy vs Su Yung (who has a similar gimmick). Though that match is hilarious and has the most Orange Cassidy has ever emoted in his entire career.

Damn this was a lot better than it needed to be. Shida is great as usual and sold Abadons offence and intimidation very well, Abadon looked really good here and shows a lot of promise, only thing I will say is for her not to use the sit up and spider crawl sit as those two things should be used in big moments. Either way AEW keep Abadon coming back please

I think you've mistaken Shida for the other Joshi wrestlers. She is almost full time. She's been putting the most work among the Joshi wrestlers who are signed with the company. I think they are saving her for a lengthy championship run.
Abadon is not currently signed to AEW. However, based on the buzz her appearance has generated, its only a matter of time; she went from 300 followers on twitter to 1000 literally overnight. She certainly would add some variety.
Gimmicks like hers are far easier to be a laughed at than feared (Luthor anyone?) But damn she's nailed it. She for me out Su Yung'd it in one dark match lol. Not sure it's gonna be sold as well vs the greener stars who can't sell the story telling like Shida but I'm willing to see them try.

And help her improve and grow.
Abadon looked really amazing in this match. Shida carried her to an excellent match. I honestly thought Abadon was gonna take this one...until Shida pulled a Touhou and went full fuckyoshitup mode with the hair release. Really great match!
I think Abadon will get signed - especially if you noticed the crowd and comments to this video. By the way, AEW does scan the internet to get a feel of what fans like. As seen in one of Brady's promos on Tv also the Young Bucks are active on TH-cam with their TH-cam channel.
Abadon seems like the scarier version of Su Yung. I liked her. That said, I loved her mannerisms and Shida having to overcome that made it even better. Great match.

Happily they signed Abadon... suuuuuch a great look, need a few tweeks but I totally see her as being a “oh, gotta stay and watch this match.” Give her a few wins and be that total wild card that’ll just make any feud interesting and no matter how much they lose you still have to watch... kinda like how Kamala was back in the day, or Kane when he started, monster heel that just you have to watch and really elevates faces and no matter how many feuds they lose it really doesn’t hurt them as you just HAVE to watch them... looking forward to her in the future... so freaky... love it
