    Excellent video and thanks for the communication and advice given to my wife. An order will be on its way to you

    Very informative video, thanks. When you showed everyting connected together you said that the external modem went into one of the LAN ports, as far as I'm aware the connection needs to be only in the WAN port on the internal router and will only work in that one as default.

      yes, you are absolutely correct. the modem need to be connected to the WAN port.

      Can I connect the RJ45 LAN-IN port on the POE with a cable directly to a PC ?
      When you have only 1 electronic device, you dont need a router. I think it is possible ?

      @@kalwongkl yes you can connect directly to a Lan port on a PC, but you'll have to setup the connection as a PPOE or make sure the unit is set to router mode rather than bridge.

    Could you please review the GL.iNet GL-X3000 (Spitz AX) 5G NR AX3000 Cellular Gateway Router with Wi-Fi 6, Multi-WAN, Dual-SIM, and Detachable Antennas? Thanks!

    Great video, thanks for this! Very helpful to see the product in use. Can you tell me how long the cable is from the outdoor router to the PoE inside? I assume I'd need to drill a hole through the wall to get the cable inside to the power pack... Also, is it an omni-directional aerial, so I don't need to point it in the exact direction of the 5G mast signal?

    I live on a narrowboat cruising the uk, i was going to buy a teltonika rutx50 and pontying 3-17 external aerial, but at half the price of the above would this be a viable option??
    Thanks for the informative video.

    Hi, what are the outdoor 4g speeds

  • @paticiohk760

    It would be a much better design if ZTE just modify their existing model with an option to attach a external antenna. Antenna break, just replace it and cost much less than the whole router. Is there an alternative model/maker in the market?

    There is a MC889 PRO. It's hard to get the complete specifications. It's not clear whether it uses the X62 or the X65 chipset. Any Idea?

    Will signal reception be so bad indoors? Worse than other ZTE routers with similar Qualcomm chips?

    HI does the outdoor modem actually require the ZTE T3000 router? I already have my own router, I just need an outdoor receiver to capture 5g signals.

      Hi, the MC889 modem can be used in modem/bridge mode not requiring the T3000

      How do you switch it to bridge mode? Is it a physical switch on the device or can you configure the modem via a phone or computer

    It looks like if you wanted to change the ethernet cable that goes into the outdoor modem it might be tricky? It has to be one of those flat kinds to fit through the plate at the bottom? Or could you fit a normal round one in?

      you can always extend with an IP rated Ethernet adapter

    I have a question. I have the exact same router and I would like to connect the cat. 6 10 meter cable to a second LAN-cable (cat 7) via a connector so cat 6 - connector - cat 7 - PoE. I need a longer cable to put the mesh I have with the router in the right room and the 10 m cat 6 isnt long enough for that. is that possible or would the outdoor router not get any power because I use another cable?
    Thank you!

    • @router-mods
      @router-mods  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi, you will be fine to extend the cables up to 100m with POE.

    interesting device this.....i don't recall you mentioning anything about the antennas which are obviously internal on the outdoor modem. How many are there inside? and is this at all mod-able to connect your additional external antennas?

      @J1ggleMyPuff ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't take my word for it as I might but wrong but I have one of these and there is no extra ports on the mc889 for external antennas

    • @R3xiiee
      @R3xiiee ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@J1ggleMyPuff yeah i didn't think they had any as standard, was more curious as to if it was possible to mod the device at all to enable you to attach your own external antennas rather than use the internal ones to establish if there could be any potential gains/benefit from it

      hi, there are 8 internal antenna (4x4G and 4x5G) we did consider modifying this modem, however it would defeat its intended use.

      @R3xiiee ปีที่แล้ว

      @@router-mods thank you for your response on this. I agree modifying would defeat its intended use, however if you are a user that has 4G and 5G towers in opposite directions modifying would be worthwhile, as otherwise your limited to having the antenna facing one direction
