Engraving a fish on a beer glass using a special printed adhesive paper.
This is an old video (Feb 2022) released for my Patreon teaching channel / glassengraving where you will find my latest videos, MANY more exclusive videos and perks, Q&As etc. - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
👍🏼 well done. I’m a newbie to glass engraving and I’m not as accomplished artist as you. But this type of paper could be very helpful. Thank you Leslie for this video and all the many other teaching videos you have made.
My pleasure Ronald :-) Enjoy!
Your art is amazing. And your accent is lovely. I would like to be able to make something close as you can do.
Thank you 😊
I didn’t knew Alma, but it broke my heart to hear that she passed away. That’s so sad. I’ve never heard of engraving paper before, that sounds very interesting. My husband loves fishing, so I actually. Want to try to engrave a fish for him as well. Where did you find the reference photo if I may ask? Have a nice day!
Alma was a lovely Patron of mine from mycteaching channel, she was in USA. I was teaching her one to one on line. So excited about engraving glass. Covid took her life so quickly.
For the picture I searched royalty free carp on the internet. I have no idea where I actually found it, was a long time ago.

Hey Lesley, firstly thank you for your incredibly helpful tutorials! Secondly would you be able to add the template for the segmenting/dividing of your cylindrical projects (all the circles and lines) it would be of great help to someone who isn’t the best at maths 🤭 thanks and keep up the wonderful videos for us! Jo :)
Thank you Jo, I am glad you are enjoying them. These are released older teaching videos from my Patreon channel where you will find any links, tools and questions answered. Do consider joining www.patreon.com/glassengraving

I'm afraid I haven't I was sent it from USA by one of my members of my teaching channel who died of covid shortly after. This is an old video I released from my teaching channel www.patreon.com/glassengraving and there may have been a discussion with my USA members regarding that.
Hi Lesley, amazing job! I am from Argentina and I have a question, what do you think of the Dremel engraver (which works by vibration and not by rotation)? Would it work for detailing?
Thank you . I answer all questions on my teaching channel www.patreon.com/glassengraving , that tool was my first electric engraver so I know it well. :-)
Вы классная ❤
Thank you 😊
What if you put the paper image on the inside of the glass, and then etched the outside?
Obviously what you say is the most logical and easiest way, you will see I do that in many of my videos :-D and there are also many other ways of creating the image before engraving! I am merely trying this method for fun because someone sent the paper to me to try. For all questions and much more please visit my main teaching channel www.patreon.com/glassengraving
Hermoso. Voy a probar de poner el dibujo de afuera yo lo pego adentro. Saludos cordiales desde Patagonia Neuquén Argentina

In Japanese artwork, the carp is supposed to represent manliness & bravery, because it's said that when caught, the carp awaits the knife without flinching...so you're actually correct in assuming that this design should, in fact, be for a man...although women do like them too because they are quite attractive designs...I don't think it sexist to think that in this day & age, that some things can still, and still should be gender specific...I'm still old school enough to believe that is still the case...but so far as fishing goes anyone can certainly do it, but it's definitely far more common to see men doing it rather than women...very nice design...I would never have even guessed that someone would carve through the paper to engrave glass...very interesting...but looking from inside the glass, it looks like you could actually stick it on the inside of the the glass for a more traditional carving as well...
Thank you for this, fascinating, I didn't know about the carp story. If you have seen my videos, you will see that I am only experimenting with this paper as it was gifted to me. I don't use it and it is not my preference at all. There are many ways that I transfer my design onto glasss.
