- Yes, today we find out whether I got the UCAS grades I need to apply to a good university for medicine. Not only that, I go through the entire exam process, and my actual scores for every exam if you are interested in that kind of stuff.

Hey Nouman! As a fellow aspiring medic who has just finished A-Levels in Bio, Chem and Maths, this video brought back (sometimes unpleasant) memories from last year!
Just some tips from me as you head into Year 13:
- Please don't underestimate the UCAT. The averages go up every year because everyone is getting better. If you don't feel 100% ready, don't hesitate to postpone it until you are.
- At the same time, if you're planning to do BMAT, please leave ample time between UCAT and BMAT. You don't want to be preparing for both at the same time! So many people didn't do this in my school and they got so stressed.
- Imo mocks were harder than the final exams, so don't be disheartened if you don't get what you want then, you'll be surprised by how much you'll improve in the months leading up to the real thing.
- Be really strategic about the med schools you apply to. Read all the admissions policies and see which schools favour your stats. I had quite a good UCAT, so I focused on more UCAT-heavy med schools. If you're doing BMAT too, then 2 UCAT + 2 BMAT unis is a good way to spread the risk.
- Collect all your question packs / past papers / topic booklets well before you plan to use them. That way you can gauge how long it will take to complete them so that you can better structure your revision schedule.
- For Bio, keep a running document of do's and don'ts of mark scheme language so that you know exactly what examiners want for each question. Keep a close eye on any notable diagrams and pictures - lots of them I saw in past papers were reused in my final exams!

My school is so underperforming and my predicted grade are D/4.
Hopefully that will change when I go to another school where I’ll get grade 9s

my school makes the papers them selves, especially from Bio and Chem you will never see a Q from a Past paper. in bio i had done so many past papers and memorised mark schemes and still got 60% in the exam.
Bio mark schemes are so silly honestly. I dropped random marks across the paper for the exact same reason as you even though I was really confident in those questions. It’s just dumb
im on A*A*B in maths econ chem. Gonna retake the B to get it to A* in September

Nah they don’t exist anymore if I’m not mistaken, or at least our school doesn’t do them
@NoumanSami my ussully do 4 subjects and one as an As and the other 3 at A level (you drop the As in the first year) but technically you cluld do As and A level but in theory an A level is like having an As at the same time so it would be pointless to do the 3 you want to do as A full A level as an As

Wishing you the best for this new chapter! Honestly, you don’t even need to do an insane amount of revision, if you stay consistent each day like myself, by the end you’d only need to do like 2-4 hours of revision right before the exams and you’ll pull off great results. Sixth form is both equally more demanding but more fun so make sure to enjoy it also

@@NoumanSami same, I have started 10 days ago, how many hours you roughly doing a day, my test is in 49 days and my scores are looking decent. I have just been doing questions from all sections and at the end of this week should be confident enough to start full mocks. We are going to have a looooong summer lol.

Hi I just finished year 11 and my GCSEs and am waiting for results, hope they can be as great as yours! I’m planning on taking the same a levels as you (plus further maths) but plan to do psychological and behavioral sciences at uni - do you think these A levels would be appreciated by top universities for PBS?
i’m in the same position as you (going to do physics instead of biology tho) and honestly i just want these results now. with regards to your options i don’t see why it wouldn’t be an issue personally. were you considering taking psychology by any chance?
@@AyoOgunyoye yeah I was considering taking psychology A level, but I really didn’t want to drop any of my other choices as they still allow quite a broad range of scientific degrees like this (medicine, natural sciences, biochemistry etc.) and I’m not 100% sure on PBS. I think psychology is not required, and if you take biology and/or maths it is usually enough. If you’re not taking bio you might have to do some sort of catch up thing at some point to learn the essentials, I’m not too sure you could ask a teacher. I think your options look good though if you’re also considering engineering or chemical engineering. Last thing - if you’re doing an EPQ, do it on the subject you think you will study at uni and it gives you more experience and demonstrates your interest.

@@JohnnyWright99 haha nws, originally i wanted to study biochem or toxicology but bio is easily my worst science, it takes me ages to understand and get 9 level knowledge on each topic, so i’m leaning more towards chemical engineering now. my mate in the year above is taking the same subjects as you and he’s gonna do natural sciences and yh he said that the options are really broad even if he doesn’t so yh those are solid a levels imo. my school hasn’t mentioned EPQ’s tho so i’m pretty unfamiliar with them
@@AyoOgunyoye Yeah tbf I feel the same with bio it’s my worst science, but I just really want to do psychology so I sort of have to. It will take a lot of work but hopefully I can still get the A* and then it won’t matter how good I am at it after that - I had my A level transition day today and bio sounds like mostly recall. Looking forward to chem though, it sounds really interesting and with further maths I could follow you down the chemical engineering route 🤷♂️. We’ll see I guess. Good luck again :)

The main thing universities look for is YOUR MAIN EXAM results and also the fact that he wants to go to med school , the main thing they’ll look for is your UCAT or BMAT results. This guy is just gaslighting his followers. I’m a med school myself and all of what he said is just extra and it’s making me cringe (no hate on this dude)
