(According to the marketing literature that I've read: The Radxa SATA tower claims to work this way.)
nice tutorial. I'm currently waiting for exactly those parts. I've noticed ( 8:38 ) that you did not install heatsinks on the PI, is there a specific reason? is there not enough space between fan the PI Board?
Music, that's what the mute button is for. But when I add up the cost of parts for this thing, I can buy a used laptop or SFF box for about the same, and the laptop comes with screen, kb and touchpad. I bought a refurb Lenovo with 4gb memory and 500g HDD for $90 and it works great as both a fileserver, I still use Pis for experiments because of GPIO interface though.

OK now I get it... the video is so confusing... not sure why they show adding the short for the latching switch at 9:04 when attaching the switch from the case because the switch is not a latching switch, it is MOMENTARY! So I have a working system with an OPEN circuit on the latching switch pins. FWIW in my testing i noticed it also wont work if the jumper pins on the X825 for "Auto OFF" are open.

I will definitely go for a 64 tb Intel Xeon file server than this crap.
