Sun Shine in a jar! Misty, Shawn told us they were coming to your house. Enjoy seeing them, and being introduced to you and your husband. Y'all seem to be very hard working people. Warmth of a welcoming home. God bless! Please stay safe..
I've been saying I was going to do this for a good year and a half---so today I DID IT!!! Thank you for the simple instructions. I feel like I could do this a couple more times, and be good for a while. I also made you open-kettle dill pickles---twice!---and they turned out great! Thank you, thank you!❤
@@helenkessler6012 I was thinking of doing that, too. Might not be so easy to get dairy in the future, put some back now. Time to rewatch some videos! 😀
Thank you Misty for taking time to make this VERY THOROUGH & EASY TO FOLLOW video . All my questions were clearly answered ! God bless you always !! ✝️🕊️♥️🙏😇
Oh my goodness THANK YOU! I have watched several videos on canning butter but EVERY single one ommitted the step about jars being hot and IF you warm them using the normal canning method of boiling the jars. I was not sure if the water from the canner effected the butter aka ghee. I have had frozen butter, for what seems forever, and the only thing stopping me has been this one step!! Thank you SO MUCH!!
Thank you for not only telling me how but showing how to do it. I am 66 years young and been afraid of canning because of the horror stories. I now have the knowledge to try it. Thank you and God bless😊
My word, I only learned to can just under 15 years ago. My mom was sure that it would explode and take out a small city. Nope, only have gotten sick on grocery store food, never on home canned.
This is so great. I appreciate you and your teachings so much. I've been building up on butter to can. I hope I have enough for 8 pints. Can't wait to get started. Thank you for being here ❤
Thank you for this. I was raised on raw milk and home made butter, cheeses. Mom froze the butter. I had never heard of canning it, and I doubt she had I do not have access to either just now, but will try to find a source of farm fresh butter when we settle.
This is so helpful for me. I have used a Nesco electric, but just bought a Presto 23 quart canned with gauge and am nervous to use it. This makes me believe I CAN.
I have the Presto also, but I changed the weight to a jiggler weight & it is so much easier...I was constantly stressing over every degree on my gauge & the juggler is way easier
I have canned butter before, but never pressure canned it. I was told to sterilize jars then put in oven as water could not get in the butter. I keep them in the refrig. I will try your way so I can have shelf stable as well. Thank you!
Thank you Misty!!! I loved this video and now I need to watch your other canning videos. I'm no longer afraid of the pressure canner. Such a great step by step.
Well -- one cup is two sticks and two cups are in a pint so four sticks per pint (I'm not great in math but basic math -- u should have 32 sticks of butter for 8 pints)
QUESTION: CAN I DO 2 LAYERS OF JARS WITH 8 PINT JARS ON EACH LEVEL, IF I PUT THE RISER ON BOTTOM TO KEEP JARS FROM BREAKING AND A RISER IN BETWEEN THE 2 LAYERS OF JARS?
@@TheMacsLife0 THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING! MY NEXT QUESTION IS: DO I ADD EXTRA WATER TO ACCOMODATE THE 2ND LAYER OF JARS? AND IF SO, HOW MUCH EXTRA WATER? THERE WILL BE MORE WATER DISPLACEMENT WITH THE ADDED JARS (THE WATER WILL RISE WITH ADDED JARS), SO WILL WATER GET INTO THE JARS, RUINING THE BUTTER, AND IF SO, HOW WOULD I KEEP WATER FROM GETTING INTO THE JARS??? THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for the canning 101. I feel like I will be able to do this when I get my pressure canner. You have done a wonderful presentation that is very understandable. I will be saving this video to watch again when it’s time for me to can. Thank you again and God bless you both for all the great information. I am learning so much.😊
Thank you so much for sharing how to can butter. I hadn't realized that you could do this. This will be on my list from canning next after I do my pork😊
I canned butter a couple months ago from watching homestead heart (which I love) and I made the mistake of not turning them enough. They separated. Would you still use them?
I truly enjoyed that lesson, Misty. I think this is important for a prepper pantry. I have a question, do you happen to know how many store-bought sticks will fill a pint jar?
It takes skimming off three gallons (probably close to a gallon of cream to make about a pound and half of butter -- keep the butter milk and use it in your cooking!)
Wash- peel- wash- cut into cubes - wash Pack in sterile jars with 1 tablespoon salt - fill with boiling water, process (for time stated in ball blue book)
Thank you for this! Due to work, I often can in the late afternoon then have to retire early. Approx how many times do the jars have to be turned to solidify ?
I always use the butter solids for popcorn,I store it in a glass jar, and use it that way...💗
Yummy!

I just finished 7 pints of butter after watching your video. I like the pressure can method for this too. Thank you so much 😊
👏
Thank you I love the fact that I can have butter that keeps without refrigeration.
I saw a video about canning butter from Homestead Heart years ago. Glad to see yours now, too. 😊

If you make ghee you don’t have to pressure can it.
This is exactly what I've been wanting to learn. Thankyou!
Very informative!⭐❤❤🙏🏼🙏🏼xxoo
I have done this. I’m not saying how many quarts. But I have a lot of fresh Amish butter canned! You are precious. God’s Blessings Misty!

Do you ever double stack your pint jars when you have huge batches?
I don't but I should!
I truly enjoyed that lesson, Misty. I think this is important for a prepper pantry. I have a question, do you happen to know how many store-bought sticks will fill a pint jar?
Two sticks of butter equal a cup
Two cups make a pint so four sticks of butter should fill a pint

Just wondering, how many pounds of butter for 9 pints? I want to can the butter I have in the freezer.
It takes skimming off three gallons (probably close to a gallon of cream to make about a pound and half of butter -- keep the butter milk and use it in your cooking!)
Misty can you add another row of pints with a divider or do you think only 7 -9 pints at a time is safer?
I think it's safe it your canner is made to do two stacks
I just haven't ever done it
