    I've been saying I was going to do this for a good year and a half---so today I DID IT!!! Thank you for the simple instructions.     Oh my goodness THANK YOU! I have watched several videos on canning butter but EVERY single one ommitted the step about jars being hot and IF you warm them using the normal canning method of boiling the jars. I was not sure if the water from the canner effected the butter aka ghee. I have had frozen butter, for what seems forever, and the only thing stopping me has been this one step!! Thank you SO MUCH!!

      My word, I only learned to can just under 15 years ago. My mom was sure that it would explode and take out a small city. Nope, only have gotten sick on grocery store food, never on home canned.

    Thank you for this. I was raised on raw milk and home made butter, cheeses. Mom froze the butter. I had never heard of canning it, and I doubt she had I do not have access to either just now, but will try to find a source of farm fresh butter when we settle.

      I have the Presto also, but I changed the weight to a jiggler weight & it is so much easier...I was constantly stressing over every degree on my gauge & the juggler is way easier

    I have canned butter before, but never pressure canned it. I was told to sterilize jars then put in oven as water could not get in the butter. I keep them in the refrig. I will try your way so I can have shelf stable as well. Thank you!

      Well -- one cup is two sticks and two cups are in a pint so four sticks per pint (I'm not great in math but basic math -- u should have 32 sticks of butter for 8 pints)

    I canned butter a couple months ago from watching homestead heart (which I love) and I made the mistake of not turning them enough. They separated. Would you still use them?

      Two sticks of butter equal a cup
      Two cups make a pint so four sticks of butter should fill a pint

      It takes skimming off three gallons (probably close to a gallon of cream to make about a pound and half of butter -- keep the butter milk and use it in your cooking!)

      You need to call your company to see if the top can handle the pressure - I have an older model and it can
