You forgot to mention he went against a stacked pro bowl colts team in the final week of his rookie season. He picked them apart with back up running backs, tight ends and receivers. He was so good that they didn’t need him in the 2nd half and would’ve had 3 touchdowns if one wasn’t dropped. That was the, “ yes I belong “ game for Trevor.
Hope it carry’s over. But yes that game had to give him confidence going into the off-season. I see 4000 yards and 20 TDs. Still see about 13-15 INTs but he will be competitive this year. Next year he will be in the pro bowl and In MVP talks. Book it.

I do think the WR core got better and let's not forget Shenault can bounce back and Treadwell had almost 500 yards. It's a solid core. Is it elite? No but it's improved. Also I think the O-line will be better than we think given they drafted Fortner at center and he's had a good camp and Walker Little will probably win the RT spot. I started three years in H.S. at QB on a good team (Astronaut High in Titusville Fl.) in a district with lots of quality teams and my Dad (who played QB at Navy) was the OC the years I was there, and I watched a lot of the 22 film with him and I feel like I am a pretty good scout of QB's. When I watch Trevor i see talent for sure, but I don't see John Elway/Dan Marino/Andrew Luck like super talent, I just see some talent. So I don't expect him to dominate other teams and carry his team just by himself. To me he is a wait and see what he can do type of talent. The thing that still kind of bugs me about Lawrence is how bad he looked in his last Bowl game...the three QB's i mentioned above all played like supermen in their last college game and won the game for their school, whereas Lawrence struggled against a good (not great, as they got rolled by Bama in the Championship game) Ohio State team.

Stafford never had a great defensive team either. Many people that never really played on a high level will never understand that Defense and a QB manager has a great chance at winning championships. He has to improve his accuracy period and stop forcing passes into tight windows.

What makes Trevor Lawrence so special or should I say transcendent? I don't watch college and nothing in his rookie year showed me he is this generational quarterback. I don't want to hear that he wasn't good because Jacksonville is bad because a true star will shine even through a bad team. Look at RG3, he was on a bad team and still proved he was worth the hype until he got injured. Josh Allan was good for the bills but he lacked consistency. Point is you can certainly tell a great player even when they're on a bad team and I didn't see anything from Trevor. Everyone seems to hype him up and I still haven't seen his spidey sense. Maybe year two will be different though
