Hey Pairs, been a fan of the channel for a while, just wanna say thank you for giving the mod a shot! It's still WIP and far from perfect, so if you or anyone have any suggestions I am open to all.
Few things to improve your modded/dev mode experience: You can remove the damage numbers by going into the config menu that opens with door kickers and disable the debug stats and damage numbers within the trailer controls section. Secondly, if you want to make use of the two additional slots in the rangers roster, you need to generate a new squad as the game does not automatically fill the slots for newly added units in old squads.
Tactical Taco has got some bangers in terms of maps, can't say I'm surprised that one of his maps are featuring on the channel. Hope we get to see you showcase some more Workshop talent, there's a growing number of solid map-makers in the community.

I think I started something by making videos in 1st person lol everybody's doing it now, and that's a good thing! I think it's gonna bring more people in.
Something I’d love to see in a mod would be something along the lines of mousing over an enemy and seeing text like “Remember the civilian (operator name) shot in (location of a previous mission)? He made it…” Shit like that would do great for developing a dynamic story around your squad. Would also attribute your past mistakes to the difficulty of later missions, which would be super punishing and keep it fresh.
A great game, but I wish it had better fog of war. It doesn't really make sense that you know the layout of the entire map for every mission. Like building interiors should only be visible when it is a building that it is plausible for the rangers to have knowledge of the layout, either from building plans, having been there before, or info from informants or undercover assets.
Now that you are playing modded I would really like to see you use the fog of war mod. It blacks everything you have not seen yet out and it would be really interesting to see how you approach an assault blind instead of somehow knowing the exact room and furniture layout of a building.
Obviously, the person who made this scenario has NO notion of how much face and prestige they’ve lost by having a spelling error in the breifing. It’s outrageous!

Awesome run. The only thing I would have done differently would have been wall charging the south wall of the last bathroom you cleared last at around 46:05 on the replay. You didn't know there was a bomb at that point but the OP could have blown that door open and could have denied the enemy the use of the barricaded positions and would have created a substantial distraction for entry on the east hatch. I understand it is only door kickers but there is no way I'd call a structure clear and turn my back on it after encountering two fortified fighting positions and a bomb without physically checking every room. With all that said, I understand your aversion to bathrooms.
Does anyone have a video or a video recommendation on how to properly install this mod, I'm having difficulties. I have a windows computer if that makes a difference
the only thing i dislike about this game is the unrealistic responses of the enemies. you see guys just keep running into the players guns. like if you gotta climb over 4 or 5 bodies the game should have the ai react by hunkering down and defending the position versus keep running into enemy fire continuously
Would love to see you try out the "Going in Blind" mod from Nexus as well, it makes it so that any dead space is completely pitch black, including structure outlines until seen. Its still WIP but its very fun and adds a lot of challenge
It's the only mod I use, and I highly recommend it! You won't be able to do intelligence preparation of the battlefield that way, but not being able to magically see inside rooms makes the game so much more interesting, adding a reconnaissance phase where your team should explore the perimeter first, before going in not knowing what to expect. I love it and would love to see CP give that playstyle a try, too!
It would be really nice if Door kickers had a feature where you could move an entire stack instead of having to move every trooper individually, especially for missions like this that have 20 troopers
Its cool to see you trying out some mods for this game, there's some really good ones out there. One of my favorites that I think you'd also like is Realistic Rangers; it changes the roster to more accurately reflect a real ranger fireteam and it lowers their deploy cost from 1 to .75, so you can deploy them in greater numbers as long as the map still has unused spawn points.
Guys if you're new to Dk2 mods and see some operators missing from the roster just like how Pairs has the 2 Black Ops dudes grayed out, you need to create a new team. I dont know why but thats how the game engine works. Im new to mods and modding this game myself.
Also little trick, the HEDP grenade launchers can punch peek-holes in walls, not wide enough to enter but you can get angles on people through that. Also the blackops guys have a strike designator which can completely nuke a whole map almost

Apologies if I'm late to the party - just discovered and enjoying your videos on Doorkickers but still making my way through them - but did you know you can make use of spy cameras to look around corners as well? You may well have demonstrated this on a video I've yet to watch, but thought I'd mention it just in case!

That “civilian” wasn’t a civvie it was a unarmed sympathizer smh. But all jokes aside I am glad you finally got to play this awesome mod Pairs, especially with Taco’s great map(and giving you bathroom PTSD flashbacks along with it). Finally, I just wanted to throw my own two cents/ a tip: Since the SWAT update they made Go codes more in sync so you no longer have to manually make moves after a frag or flash goes out.
I'd be interested to see a door kickers mod that removes the ability to see things like weapons, furniture, cars, and basically anything else that would be concealed by a roof/building. It would make you think on the fly and not be able to preplan as well.
That mod exists, it makes the fog of war completely black. The only problem i have with it is previously viewed areas will turn black again if you look away from them, when irl you would still know the layout of the room you just cleared, etc.
An idea I've had, what if somebody made an active shooter map. I'd be really interested to see how we could minimize lives lost in a very complicated building such as a mall or school with limited equipment initially and more options as time goes on.
I just downloaded the tier one over haul and realistic rangers mod yesterday, i checked the same day if you did a look on one of these mods but didnt see any vids. Thank you for doing this.
Is it weird that I don’t have the black ops unit for the rangers when I downloaded this mod? Everything else worked out fine. It just has two silhouettes but I can’t drag them anywhere.

And those plans could still be somewhat wrong, if, say, the enemies knocked down a wall.
