This song is so different for everything that everyone is doing currently, Key really gave this album so much and damn SM gave him as much hard time.. anyway the song and the album came out so good. Its really song of the year for me 😭❤ His vocals were so freaking good

I think the same, if SM had not put several obstacles to Key, Bad Love would have come out months before. I am also happy that the final result of the mini album is the closest thing to what Key had envisioned and that he was involved in everything.
@@maje1ful honestly yes but at least at the end he got to do what he wanted to do and how he wanted to do it. So I'm satisfied. Sm may have tried to make him change ideas or something but at the end they let him do what he wanted which is something i appreciated. And the final result was insane honestly. This comeback was hands down one of the best in 2021 for me. And it got more successful that i was hoping for so maybe sm will be more flexible next time since they saw that key ideas work well
@@ericacella1180 Thinking about it that way you are right, SM gave the green light with Key even though he did not give him the budget he wanted and others etc, they let him develop his ideas, and I must mention that SM this 2021 has had very good results with the comebacks of his groups.

Thanks for the reaction! You actually got the storyline right, that's what Key said, it's coming a full circle vibe. He explained it somewhere. Key has total creative control on the Bad Love album, so this was a concept he wanted to do for a long time, a lot of inspirations from the 70s-90s retro. Do check out the, imo, a-sides on the album..it's a mini so 3 other songs other than Bad Love and Hate That. There is performance version of Bad Love by 1theK too, you might be interested in watching/reacting? The choreo is just awesome.

He did EVERYTHING himself. It’s all key. He fought so hard with SM to do this. He was constantly told to change theme, title track and by the end of the shoot he totally cried at the overwhelming feeling of it all. He deserves all the attention and praise for this!! Seee how good something can be, when sm let their idols have actual autonomy of their work !

The plot is that you are changing the television channels, and the programming is like the 80's, MTV, Late Night Show, The Old West, and space travel.
man.. Key is really something.. I'm really surprised by how much I LOVE the song!
Key ate this comeback. No crumbs.
The storyline of this MV starts from him watching the TV on the couch, then the quick switching scenes were representing more like him “switching tv channels” (emphasizing on the transitioning of these scenes, ex. open the door and enter a new room with completely different outfit), these changing scenes also describes his inner mood changes because of the “bad love”, finally MV circles back to the couch scene where he put together himself again.

This Song Is Amazing.Melody Is So Great.I Love It .
The MV goes beyond that retro vibe, it also gives a Joker vibe, like those shots that he is on a talk show and takes over everything with that smirk. I guess the mix bethween space and reality says about he not being able to tell what is real and what isn't, because he is affected by this bad love, and he is sick of this (this line on the music actually is a inside joke bc kibum says "i'm sick of this" all the time lol). It's a play where show him doing his stuff as and idol and enterteiner, where you have to serve this role as being on camera, by going in shows and things like that, and then he realise that his relationship isn't being that different of this career and that he's also playing a role, and realise how shit this bad love is. This concept and album was supervised by him in all details because was something that he wanted to do since his debut and he finally was able to do so, and in his word: he was finally able to be the "Key" that he dreamed about and it's a very special comeback for him and us, shawols.
This is my personal thought about it, and my english is not the best, but I hope it's enough for you to catch up...

Key himself explained in MMTG that the concept of the MV is that everything Key watched in that tv; the keep changing channel is only exist in his twisted mind, so the only thing real is the Key who watch that tv. I hope my explanation makes sense lol

I also love the MV so much! It's very pleasant to the eyes. The song is also very enjoyable for me. I think the MV shows how he was trapped, like even in the lyrics he said he was addicted, his lover was captivating but very bad etc etc that it was so toxic and he didn't need that kind of love, that he wanted to be free (it was shown he ripped, he burnt the cue card etc), but in the end, he was still back to the starting point, to the empty room where he was forced to see the whole same show again and again. It was so toxic and it was so hard to be free. The cinematic is very very amazing as well. I really love this MV! Cmiiw, the director is the one who worked with Taemin for Criminal MV, and Criminal is also one of my fave MV! I think the combination of the director's skills and SHINee's members' creativity just fit so well! Hope to see more of their works together in future!

Also if you want to see the dance more clearly I suggest you to watch the special clip from 1TheK, it was well filmed and interesting to watch, I am really in love with the dance moves and his performance in it!
Like everyone said, Key has been thinking about this concept since their debut and he worked so hard for this and had a lot of difficulties with the company in preparing it, but it is really worth it! As you watched everything has high quality from the song, the performance, the dance, the outfits and the set, literally everything and it was all of Key's ideas and opinions.

Bad Love and Advice by Taemin are definitely my fave releases this year because they both just took the concepts, made them their own and totally slayed. Two such amazing, memorable and unique songs! Honestly none of the Shinee boys ever disappoint no matter if it's as group or soloists! I feel so blessed stanning them and I love watching you discovering them as well!
