For the Cafe, Sammi would be the best pick for the job because he LOVES the job there. The food he prepares will be the best quality, so yeah, which critter you pick does matter. I logged about 160+ hours onto the demo alone, I am very excited and definitely gonna buy it Day 1 :D

Loved the demo, and am really looking forward to early access and, eventually, the full release! 😁 Here are some things that I hope will be added to the game (based on my demo play-through): - Extra character pattern customizations (like an open layer that gives you the ability to draw on unique markings, scars, patterns, etc. that aren’t possible to have with the current options in the character creator). - Custom villagers (villagers who you can create and save and occasionally have tour or move to your island - like Miis; a customizable personality menu would be nice, so you could determine the dialogue they will use and what their likes / dislikes are). - Wallpaper / trim options for your house (inside and outside).
I've played the demo, it's a fun wee game and I'm looking forward to early access. Inventory sort all button is desperately needed tho! Not having the ability to sort everything from your backpack into stacks in chests of similar items is quite the pain.
I love it, played the demo several times. The tourists brought me the most money and I also sold food. Each play through was a bit easier of course as I learned to quickly gather as many resources as possible before the first and only thunderstorm in the demo. Definitely will be purchasing this week.
I hope that fishing isn't too complicated - I'm really bad at fishing if it's like what was showed so hopefully it'll be easier than it looked - it wasn't in the demo so I'll have to wait and see. The house closest to the dock/workshop is the best choice for convenience but I love the umbrella "roof" area so I choose that area everytime now in the demo, it's just really nice, I don't mind walking around a lot because there isn't a bedtime to worry about so I can choose which ever house I want and it's just really a nice thing to be able to do and not be punished for picking a house farther away by passing out because you need to rush home but don't make it. I'm looking forward to this game so much and hope it continues to be great in the early access like it is for the demo and even better than that when the full release happens. My first impressions are that while I like the art style, I don’t personally think the “critters” are very cute 😣 which is definitely a bummer for me. Everyone in the comments seemed to really like the demo so I’ll probably give it a try!
Thank you for the great tip video, Josh! It looks like this game has changed a bit since I saw yeahSkippy stream it a while ago. It still has a goofy charm about it tho, and am curious what the final product will be like!
I finished everything possible when the demo 1st came out. I loved how easy everything was especially crrafting from storage & blueprints. Lots of games are too complicated. But I didn't know about the meat bushes until I watched somebody else plsy. I will definitely be buying on release

I hope it's clearer who is a good or bad fit for the shops than it was the last time I played. I may give the demo another run through to see what was changed since I last played it. I tried a different house each time I played thinking there might be some differences, but since there weren't I'm going to go with my first choice which I believe is the same one Josh chose for the same reason - close to workshop (and boat).
I will probably restart the demo again so this time i am also near the workshop. I too picked the other side of the island lol. But im so excited for the game and look forward to its EA release ❤

I'm trying to figure out where the shipwrecked critter is suppose to be. A message popped up after storm saying someone shipwrecked but can't remember where to find them.
I'm excited about the game but I'm worried about fishing, I had issues doing the Stardew Valley fishing game to the point I gave up & got the cheat mod only so I'd have auto catch on. I don't mind having a fishing minigame but I'd whether do something like "press the random buttons on screen" or a rhythm game than try to figure out how to keep the bar on the fish cause no matter how I try I can't balance the bar. If the minigame is easier than Stardew Valley's then maybe I'll rethink my thoughts on it but other wise I don't know how to feel about it.
they said on twitter they're really concerned about making it fully accessible so I think even if they reintroduce the minigame they'll make it so you don't have to or have an easy option like cult of the lamb where you can just have it autocomplete

In the latest patch, they have replaced the fishing mini game, with something simpler.

id like to be able to see the critters on mini map makes it easier to find
"I'm asleep don't wake me" sign on their door, go home, nap 5 hours, come back "I'm not home right now" AGH
Get them to 2 or 3 hearts, and they will ask for a friendship bracelet. Once you give them one they will appear on the map.

I think that the fishing minigame is easier than in Stardew Valley, or I've just not found any fish that was difficult to catch.
