This is an great live vocal performance. Mariah voice has changed with age and with how much Mariah is constantly working vocally she sounds in shape like it’s 2005 and nailed those WHISTLES! This is the most difficult song to sing vocally. Mariah uses her entire range within seconds with ease, nailed those whistles and that I Love Jesus she did with all of her ! This is vocal agility ...... Go OFF MARIAH 🗣

That's sadly not true, she uses pre-recorded tracks more often than studio vocals (the first time she's ever lipsynced was fantasy in 1995 on the Hey! Hey! It's Saturday! show, which she used a track for) it's just difficult to tell now because she's gotten significantly better at hiding it,

I love the way mariah moving to the stage it makes me feel she is into the song,but at this time she is just singing beautifully but a little boring for me but good and no hate that is just what i felt.
"I need you lord oh lord" and "I neEeEeEeEeEeEd" was all that was live. The whistles are lipped as well, though she did do it live (and in original key!) at the restaurant like 3 days before this. I miss the passion she used to have performing this song. Grammys, Idol, even TECS 2014, you could tell she felt the message. Now shes just there miming the words with little emotion. 😔

She uses the same format here as she has in every performance of Fly Like A Bird she's ever done interns of mixing live and playback elements. The last ascending whistle is in fact live here, that's why all the lambs freaked out when they saw this.

She used to come in and out a lot while performing the song, note the lip sync fail at the Grammys where she missed the cue at "break me tonight, tonight, toniiiiight." She definitely rerecorded the ascending head voice run at the end of the bridge and the first whistle in the climax sounds remarkably similar to the one she used during her Palms residency in 2009, maybe melodyned slightly to offer the illusion of it being new. Same for the final "higher jesus" whistled phrase.
