Buchanan street was a dump back then. They completely renovated it between 98' and 2000. Lots of the buildings have been sand blasted since then too. I'd say the city centre looks far better now. Merchant city and the west end are also far different now. M city didn't even really exist back then.

I was there, and It really wasn't. The filmic footage just makes it look cleaner, but it was actually filthy and is much better now.

Walk under the railway bridge (the Heilanman's (Highland man's) Umbrella) and it's Victor Morris, armourer to the neds. A window full of swords, crossbows, batons and assorted lunacy.

Mayfest was a great way to pack-out club's to 5am and packed like our's above old Nico's Bar Bistro,a packed hoose in the 1988/1993 era with many students that made our great club a powerhouse of class DJs like SLAM and back then they had 12 of them fighting to be on our Deck's. In it's glory with a capacity crowd 5-nights a week we had never a single fight or trouble cos if ye wanted awe that ye went to the Savoy or Sticky Vikkys just along the road up Sauchiehall St,a time when that god awful Boat was on The Clyde full a nutters then swapped for the N/Castle one for some weird reason as it had many different owners as we just had way to many club's & pub's like The Outhouse to The Sub-Club & Fury Murrys & The guy even owned Treasure Island with his office's for wages and accounts upstairs all gone noo. Everytime Walter the owner of all these bar's & Clubs opened a new bar or club it was an all out staff affair ''especially a free bar flung-in '' he was a self made millionare with Gypsy parent's that not a lot knew about and god bless this GEM of a guy who sadly pased away just a few year's ago,as i moved to Canada not long after our club RAIN was sold to a group a men with Colin Barr at the helm which went nowhere and all gone and only The Massive SUB-CLUB left now ....Love + Miss you Glasgow and will be over come next summer with my grown-up kids & a great Curry as you wont get any better Curry Night Than Glasgow as Cafe India was a family Fav but dont really think it will be still there noo .....
