Somehow I missed the 1969 U.S. part two video when you posted it. I'm glad I found it! I've always known there were a ton of good records other than the handful I heard over and over that year. Thanks for highlighting them, and adding to my knowledge and collection of '69 tunes. As "California Dreamin'" is one of my most favorite records ever, I was very excited to --- FINALLY -- hear a cover that does the song justice. So, thanks to Bobby Womack, too.

This is great, like spending a whole weekend respectfully searching through someone's deeply personal and cherished record collection with a decent vintage turntable and retro component stereo system. Some obvious classics, but also a bunch of semi-obscure hard to find stuff and some relatively unknown one-hitters. Infinitely better than the "music" industry today.

Maintenant, je sais de qui est "Stand By Your Man" (Tammy Wynnett), une chanson que j'ai souvent entendue, mais dont je n'arrivais pas à identifier l'auteure. Autrement, pour l'anecdote, "Something In The Air" (Thunderclap Newman) a été n°1 en Grande Bretagne et ce qui est intéressant dans cette retrospéctive 1969, c'est qu'on voit cohabiter des chansons encore ancrées dans les 60's, voire les 50's et d'autres qui ont déjà un pied dans les 70's. On voit bien aussi comment le Rock a évolué, s'est développé depuis le milieu des 50's (évolution qui se poursuivra dans les 70's, 80's et jusqu'au début des 90's).
