      And without changing his coaching staff. It’s like those guys are offended and repulsed by the concept of scouting and prepping. At UK, their excuse basically boiled down to “We’re Kentucky, we ain’t gotta prepare for other teams, other teams prepare for us. We’re every team’s Super Bowl”. Yeah whatever. Those excuses REALLY don’t hold water at Arkansas and it’s showing

    • @shawndittman4844

      He changed his staff a little....he hired his son, Sean, no, I mean Richard, no, I mean Saul, no, I mean Brad...yeah, he hired that brilliant up and coming coach Brad Calipari

    • @jarettthomas348
      @jarettthomas348 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      I actually believe Cal does exactly what he says he does, and the people who hired him didn't listen. He is preparing guys for the NBA. He doesn't coach a game, and he doesn't care about winning or losing. He want's to prepare guys for their profession; and that's awesome for what it is: college should be about personal growth, learning, and preparing for the future. But it's not a title winning formula in today's NCAA. If Arky hired Cal to win games with lots of talent and a lot of community good, then great, Cal is a slam dunk-- If they hired Cal to win a championship, they are likely to be disappointed.

    UK fan...Ok seriously anyone really expect Cal to change? He took a big part of the team he had at UK to UA...a measure of the scientific method would tell you he is doing to do the same things: recruit elite talent but cant coach elite talent and I mean coaching in the sense of teaching the game, being the general and employing the tactics of pre-game prep and gametime X's and O's...basically all those things Coach Mark Pope is..Cal is not. UA will win games, but based more on raw talent and grit during the game. And man, is it fun to be a BBN fan again!

    "Are you guys even preparing?" My man, did you pay Cal any attention when he was at Kentucky post covid?
    No, he does not prepare. You know what he said to his team before the Oakland game? When asked about what he said to them in the locker room before the game, "I told them to go out there and fight." Even Jack Gohlke said he couldn't believe they didn't make any adjustments on defense, something to the effect of he kept waiting for them to actually guard him at the three and they didn't so he just kept shooting and hitting threes.
    Calipari is officially a BUM.

    Can anyone explain why Cal doesn’t know how to teach the high ball screens? It makes no sense. Does Cal not know how to work a screen on defense? Does no one ask him? I don’t get it. It’s very bizarre.

    • @stevewilliams1176
      @stevewilliams1176 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's not bizarre at all. Cal has always done nothing more than recruit the best talent and roll the ball out and take his chances with it. For years that talent covered up his ineptness as an "x's and o's" coach (for the most part....one lone Championship with a slew of NBA talent)....in recent years with the game changing styles he's been exposed, especially when still relying on freshmen for significant roles/minutes.

    • @KingofDiamonds85
      @KingofDiamonds85 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He does, Big Z can't cover the shooter on the screen. Illinois killed us on that because all they had to do is step back and shoot over him because he couldn't close the gap. Of the 16 three's Illinois hit, 9 were by someone Big Z was covering. When Big Z subbed out and Brazile/Aidoo were in the game, that didn't happen but both guys are coming off injury and couldn't stay out as long as needed.

    Calipari cannot coach. That was his problem while at U.K. and it’ll continue being the problem. He refuses and/or lacks any ability to make in-dame adjustments. Also, the dribble/drive offense is an antiquated form of basketball. If Cal doesn’t have a supremely talented PG that has size and scores in the lane he has ZERO offensive options beyond that. Not to mention he just willfully refuses to switch defenses for any reason whatsoever. For as great as he is as a recruiter, he is equally deficient in coaching the X’s and O’s during games.
