I just cannot believe how popular this clip is... especially with people who are not Springbok fans.
A little context though, Springboks may be loved in SA but they're probably the most most despised team in international rugby (while New Zealand seems to be universally loved). What Springbok detractors do not realise though, is that the Springboks have fully embraced their image as the spoilers of international rugby.
Any top tier team can beat us ( All Blacks) on the day.....do it 3 games in a row. When you have achieved that tell me your team is the current best in the world.

Rugby Union went professional after the 1995 World Cup, which was the year Jonah Lomu walked all over everybody.
Lomu blew up to a worldwide name, he was bigger than the sport he was a part of. NFL teams tryna pay him to leave Rugby behind and stuff.
Lomu basically dragged Rugby kicking and screaming in to being a professional sport, like he was dragging all those English tackles along the field.
Fun fact: Lomu never scored a TRY against the Springboks or Wales.

@@suspect7517 I've heard some older players saying that if someone was good in the ~50s they would still be good now, given the same environment.
I reckon Lomu would definitely have a lot more competition now, but given modern coaching he'd also get a lot further.
There'd be a more solid game plan than 'pass to Jonah' and he'd also have a Barrett or two behind him.
Yeah I reckon he would still be a world class player, but he wouldn't be such a big surprise any more.
